Catch-up post!

I'd say my reading slump is finally over! 🎉 Been working through the Duncan Kincaid & Gemma James detective series - love them.

Once again, bailed on this month's #Authoramonth. 😔 She's just not for me. @Soubhiville

TiredLibrarian I love the Kincaid & James series, too. It's one of the few that seem to get better with each book. 2y
Soubhiville That‘s ok! No author is for everyone. 2y
Crazeedi This is definitely a series I need to start! 2y

Still loving Superintendent Duncan & Sergent Gemma.

Reading it with homemade peach cobbler & ice cream is even better!

Been on a run of good books, and this one was up there as pretty good as well. Set in Scotland in whiskey country, with parallel stories a century apart. Usually, I‘m not too much of a fan of that structure, but I actually liked the historical side of this more than the modern day side. Interesting turns, sometimes dragged a bit. Good atmosphere, and made me want some single malt—in Scotland! 😁

Good morning, Litsy! Especially Mitten Littens. What a night in the Irish Hills. We never lost power (AMAZING) and we have no trees close enough to the house to do damage, so mainly there will be lots of cleanup in the future. Today? Reading sounds splendid. Gotta start that #20in4 readathon!

Chrissyreadit Happy Litsyversary 🎉❤️🎉 2y
MittenGirlPeach @Chrissyreadit thank you Chrissy! You‘re the best. I‘m so glad I found Litsy! 2y

Duncan and Gemma and their children are invited to Melody Talbot‘s parents country home for a long weekend, but of course things start happening before they‘ve all arrived. Duncan is in an accident that turns complicated. Of course it does. Murder, deception, poisoning, chefs, dogs, family drama, and, as always, a mishmash of personal and professional life. I love this series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We find Duncan Kincaid in his new station (a demotion, but not in rank), still baffled by this move and unable to contact his former boss for clarification. Investigating a bombing gone horribly wrong, he finds this may go deeper than he can imagine. Gemma‘s own case seems to be resolved, and she is still in her new station, as well. On the home front, they both worry about their living arrangements and keeping their children safe. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another excellent entry in the Gemma James/Duncan Kincaid mystery series. As Gemma and Duncan continue to sort out their complicated family life, Gemma gets a temporary(?) promotion to another station. The past plays a huge role in the mysterious murders that revolve around a musician. Bullies, mysterious neighbors, alcoholism, revenge, jealousy, madness(?). And one police officer gets too personally involved with a possible suspect.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
