I love when books have illustrations, this one is particularly lovely. The book is broken down into months (written as journal entries). pickI love Elizabeth, and so I was delighted to find a 1st ed. of a book of hers I hadn't read at a thrift shop.I didn't realize at the time just how lucky I was to find it, as it's been out of print for years and isn't available online, which is a shame as I think it's one of her very best.When Jen's widowed father suddenly remarries, she takes the opportunity to escape to a country cottage, where she meets a shy clergyman and his domineering sister.
