For me, every book is beautiful and this is one of them, beautiful both inside and out 😍 Read it last year (wish I read it earlier) & it has such an impact on me! Tolstoy‘s writing about Life, Love, Death & Politics are insightful & beautiful, so relatable despite it was written hundred years ago. And this #VintageClassics is so gorgeous!

Simona If you have time in your reading life, and if you read nonfiction - his nonfiction works are almost more interesting than his fiction books. Great look in his thought process, his spiritual journey, politics, society, religion ... 5y

Congrats on your Litsy milestone @DGRachel & thanks for the #ShareTheLitsyLove giveaway. The genre I love the most is not really a genre, but I call it #spinsterlit. Books featuring odd women alone; outsiders because they're too passionate, too quiet, too good. Some just want to be a witch in the woods. These are women who don't adjust to society & I find that fascinating. Recommending these books is interesting; people have varied reactions 😬

Westwood was written by the author of Cold Comfort Farm. The main character is Margaret Steggles, who everyone thinks of as a plain, bookish girl and to whom no one pays much attention.

I remember certain details of this book, but what stands out for me is that this is a book with a lot of heart. A slow burner of a book and something just a little bit different.
