Scochrane26 @britt_brooke One of the staff members told me about the room last time during a conversation. I don‘t think I‘ve ever done the audio tour—probably should. It‘s always hard to decide what season to go in—Christmas is a popular time, but tulip season in the gardens is beautiful. 2y

I‘m enjoying browsing everyone‘s posts for the #150PnPCoverParty while reading Chapters 11-20 of Persuasion to discuss with my mom and niece next week. We‘re slowly rereading Austen‘s works and discussing them. So far, #estates , #money , and #neighbors have all played a big role in this one!

readinginthedark @LeahBergen That‘s true! This one stands out even more, I think, or earlier on. In this middle part, Austen really distinguishes the differences between the living spaces in Kellynch, Uppercross, and Lyme before she even gets to Bath! But you‘re right—all three are big factors in her novels! And thanks! We‘re having fun with it. 😊 (edited) 7y

readinginthedark I‘ve never read anything else by P.D. James. I feel like I would have liked this one more if I were actually spending time with Elizabeth and Darcy, but she didn‘t reflect the original characters in my opinion. She writes well, and it was okay. This was kind of a bummer comment—sorry! 7y

KVanRead @readinginthedark Oh I totally agree. She is a master of crime and police procedural but I‘m not sure the style of those fit very well with PnP. Though I enjoy thinking that she must also be an Austen fan.😊 7y

I would love to visit the Russian #estates described in Anna Karenina. I don‘t know what it is, but old Russia seems like a fairy tale to me. Minus the awful societal problems.
