I remember this #Lamp titled Scholastic book from the 1970s about Florence Nightingale. I think it was my sister‘s.

Another Enola Holmes winner! I believe the reason these are so delightful is bc of narrator Katharine Kellgren. I recognized her voice from the Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place series. She has great voices and comedic timing.

I fell in love with the Little People Big Dreams series of books & I've been collecting both hard & digital copies to share with my grands. I have to admit, I always learn something new when I read these books😅 With its beautiful illustrations & interesting information it will appeal to a range of children's ages & still be interesting to the adults that read with them 😊 I loved this story! #LittlePeopleBigDreams #FlorenceNightingale

Since I got the feeling I didn't do enough for this months #FoodandLit journey to #Egypt I somehow managed to squeeze in this book as well. It was my first Tree House adventure, but I'm not sure if I'm going to read more. I like how the author lets children learn about history in a fun and entraining way, but to me the characters were too bland and the plot to hasty.

TheAromaofBooks There's an older series that was published in maybe the 1950s or something called the “We Were There“ books. I've ended up with a few of them over time, and I have similar feelings about them as you have for this one - it's interesting for younger readers to have characters their age at important historical events, but also ends up over-simplifying some things and glossing over a lot of things. 3y

I definitely only read this to fill the Book About A Nurse mini challenge for the #AToZReadingChallenge2021 to read a book about a nurse. It was a fun read, and gave some good characterization to history. I'm not sure why they recently reprinted this book. It is quite old and the language really reflects that. This is a kids book, but the wording and style is very dated. #History #Nonfiction #BookAboutANurse
