This is more of an irritating YA romance than fantasy. The main character became whinny & annoying and made decisions that didn‘t make sense, and a lot of complicated situations and people got ignored for a stupid love triangle. The world & side characters needed more attention.
Xingyin must navigate her new family situation and save the celestial kingdom by finding allies in unexpected places.
2/5 I would not recommend this, very disappointing.

I had a really good feeling about this book. I had gotten the recommendation from list for top books in 2018. I finished it this morning, and I'm slightly disappointed 😔 it was very slow pace...I had hoped there would be some more family interaction. Every person had their own story going on, Linda, Mary, Fred, and Kate. The only thing that tied the book together was the father's cancer, which was a small portion. #catsoflitsy #handsomeboy
