This was a gentle story that takes place in Vietnam. Maggie, born in Vietnam but raised in America, goes back to her birth country seeking information about her father. Along the way, friendships are born. And lots of Pho is eaten, leaving me wanting to stop for a bowl. #Pop23 ~a book by an author with the same initials as you

squirrelbrain Hooray - you must be nearly finished by now, as you‘ve read loads recently?! 5mo
Cortg @squirrelbrain I still have 4 on the top and 3 on the bottom! I started another audio yesterday but reading a work bookclub book that doesn‘t fit a category 😫 I‘m a bit behind but chugging along, we‘ll see if it gets completed. Time will tell. 5mo

Crazy when you find a book on a blog and there‘s not a single physical copy in your entire county‘s library system. Gotta love Hoopla! #bookspinbingo

(This is one of the 3 books I‘m hoping to read for the South Asia prompt in the Reading Around The World Challenge.)

I found a little bookshop today. I didn‘t buy anything, but I loved getting out of the heat for a bit to browse 😍

The Second Biggest Nothing | Colin Cotterill

Thoroughly enjoyed my ARC of The Second Biggest Nothing, Cotterill‘s 14th Dr Siri Paiboun novel set in Laos. This one gives a ton of historical background intertwined with the lives of Siri and Civilai, including the assassination of the French president in 1932 and Jane Fonda‘s visit to Hanoi in 1972. Lovers of this series beware. 4.5/5.0 ⭐️ #2019

I so enjoy Siri and Daeng and the whole cast of characters in this series. They are believable, funny, and kind - and smart enough to solve murders and mysteries. We get more of Siri and Civilai‘s history in this book and I can‘t wait for more.

#GetMovin #human I picked this book because it has both human & move in the title.😉Plus the big bowls of pho served by Old Man Hu'ng in Hanoi will get you movin' to your nearest noodle restaurant. I reviewed this book back when I was still eating meat & grabbed some from a favorite pho place here & made a shrimp salad inspired by my reading for my book tour review. I miss pho-I try to get behind the veggie versions but it's just not the same.🍲😥
