A Betrayal of Storms | Ben Alderson
post image
Pickpick

Indie author Ben Alderson known for his spicy M/M romance finally gets a trad imprint deal! In his universe, a civil war brews between humans and the Fey leading to a halfling Robin Vale to be thrust in a realm of magic, government plotting, and political intrigue. Furthering this complication is his growing attraction to his Fey bodyguard Erix who helps realize his true heritage in this queer romantasy of A Court of Thorn and Roses.

I cannot believe the Burbank Chuck E. Cheese is in this book #FullMunch

Normally I don't care about business dealings in fiction, but it turns out when the dealings are thinly veiled takes on real life movie studio nonsense, billionaires slitting their own throats and trying to destroy an art form, well, then I care A Lot

It was charming! Don't know if it's uncommonly so, but there you go.

#ReadAway2024 I‘ve been seeing posts about books by this author and they sound very interesting. When I discovered this free short story on Audible, I thought it would be a great way to check out this new-to-me author. I was right and I was not disappointed. I enjoyed this unconventional friendship and the way each girl grew by gaining personal insight.

random_michelle @dabbe Everything there is a comfort read, but different things are comforting for different reasons. :)

And I'd probably reread one of those right now except I'm rereading Charlie Adhara's Wolf at the Door, so there's another series reread. :)

Don't mind @WildAlaskaBibliophile creeping in the background...
I enjoyed volume 2. A good chunk is still dealing with flashbacks of their history, but they are starting to show more of their lives together and navigating their marriage. While the marriage is for show, there are still feelings involved in cohabitating.

WildAlaskaBibliophile LOL! @tiedyedude indulged me in my photo-bombing shenanigans. It looks like I'm trying to be a wall. Ha! 8mo
