2019 into 2020...these are the two books that I had in hand:
📖 When You Ask Me Where I‘m Going - a book of poetry for empowerment of lost women voices addressing “current cultural conversations including sexual assault, mental health, feminism and immigration.”
📖 Lily and the Octopus - a true-to-character pick by my irl book club. We love books about animals and their human companions.🐕💙

Last book of 2019 was the tagged book - The Mountain Story by Lori Lansens. First book of 2020 is He Said / She Said by Erin Kelly. Two very different books but two enjoyable reads.

I‘m still reading The Stand, so I guess you could call that my last book of 2019. I just finished Josh and Hazel‘s Guide to Not Dating as my first completed book of 2020. #lastfirst

Last day to enter my New Year giveaway. To enter, repost this, tag @BookNAround and #lastfirst, and tell me your last read of 2019 and first read of 2020 (can be the same book). Easy peasy! I‘ll get random.org to pick a winner tomorrow.

@BookNAround asked what‘s the last book you read in 2019 and the first book you read in 2020.
🌄 The last one I read a few pages of is tagged above. My sisters and I are taking this trip in March - our first sister trip!
🧜🏾‍♀️ The first one I‘m currently reading is The Seduction of the Water by Carol Goodman. Can‘t go wrong with Carol Goodman!
A good way to finish and begin a year!

Nute A Sister-Sister-Sister vacation trip! I love it! So I guess that you are going to the Grand Canyon? Are you doing the mule ride? (edited) 3w
PaperbackPirate @Nute Yes we are going to ride the mules down and stay for 2 nights at the bottom. We‘ve never taken a trip with just the 3 of us before so it should be fun! 3w

The Reason You Walk by Wab Kinew finished the year off with some serious introspection. Beginning the year with Deadwood by Pete Dexter; lush story telling and characters.
Hope I am doing this right! @BookNAround

Nute I like when a story or writing is described as “lush.” That is such a cool word! I stacked that book simply because you used that word to describe it!😁 3w
runswithscissors007 @nute I definitely plan to find another Pete Dexter book to sink in to!

Well, I thought the tagged book would be either my last of 2019 or my first of 2020, but it was neither. I‘m still working on it (life got in the way today). Instead, last finished was Aphrodite the Beauty, in the MG Goddess Girls series (required reading from the kiddo) and first finished this year was The Spider Sapphire Mystery read-aloud with the kiddo. It wasn‘t a great start! 😬
