Searching through my TBR for this prompt I was reminded of this series. I really like MC Mallory. I need to pick up where I left off some day.
pickI found this a very interesting non-fiction about the cold cases of the New York Cold Case squad. Some are solved, some still need that one piece of evidence that will solve the case and give the detectives rest. And in more recent cases also family and friends. Politics has a place here too. I tried to find out what has happened with this squad. Has it been absorbed into other divisions? The politics sounded inhuman.

pickMy second completed book for #CloakandDaggerChristmas. This is the start of Maron‘s Sigrid Harald series. First published in 1981, it was a tiny bit dated (with some very inappropriate male behavior) but still entertaining. An unpopular historian and art critic in the art department of an NYC university is murdered with poisoned coffee. Det. Inspector Harald, one of the few woman detectives in her precinct, is on the case.
pickI did not like the previous book in the series so was relieved that this one was getting back to the better quality of earlier books. It also seems to be a concluding book for the series which is probably a good thing- the main character has run its course. Time to retire.
