August wrapped. Not the best books this month when Paddington is the only 5-star read!

August Books Wrapped:
I read 4 books for #Bolivia #foodandlit
1 book for #authoramonth
1 book for #campLitsy
1 book for #klbr
And 1 book for #serieslove

I‘m still reading a Llosa book, Bad Girl, that I started in July for #Peru #foodandlit and Dickens‘s Little Dorrit that I started in June for #whattheDickens

More hijinx from the beloved bear, in this the second book in the series. Paddington gets his own room, the grumpy neighbor has reason to be upset with the bear, and Mr Gruber (the antique shop owner) proves to be a good friend of the bear. And Paddington celebrates his first Christmas and his second birthday!

When I get in a reading slump I know exactly who will take me right out of it. So I‘m almost looking forward to my next reading slump!!

A bear in a most unbecoming red hat has arrived in London as a stowaway. Standing in the train station, Mr and Mrs Brown quickly befriend him. The Brown family and their housekeeper fall for this lovable bear. They soon name him Paddington—because they can‘t pronounce his real name—after the train station where he was found. This little feller from Peru gets into well-meaning hijinx but always come out of with more love and friends. Absolutely ⬇️

Texreader adorable. I‘m the wrong audience for this book but had I been in a reading slump, this would have been the book to take me right out of it. Perfect when you just need to escape. The audiobook was fantastic. Catching up: this was the last book I read in July. And although it wasn‘t about #Peru it was referenced an awful lot to make it a good book for #foodandlit 3w

These short sweet books give me comfort when work is so busy. So I‘ve moved on to book 2. And Stephen Fry is just the best narrator.

My trip to #London is over and I‘m back at home, ready to dig into all my purchases! I got two new books for my little niece. The elephant book has hilarious graphics and #Paddington is always a treat. Gotta prepare her young for her first travel to London!

It's #threelistthursday on Saturday! 😛

These are my three favorites from the list. I don't remember most of what I read as a child, so my number very well could be much higher. I also don't consider LOTR as children's books, but i liked it, so I won't complain.
One thing about lists like this is that good books are overlooked for multiples in a series or theme. I'd just bundle Harry Potter & the Moomins together to highlight others.

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick I'm a little surprised Madeline and Strega Nona aren't listed. I also lived The Monster at the End of the Book with Sesame Street's Grover, but that feels more American. Some of these are on my TBR, so perhaps the number will grow. @dabbe 8mo
dabbe Agree 💯! A series should count as one and done, leaving room for so many other wonderful works. Thanks for playing and sharing. 🩶🖤🩶 8mo
Singout Me too re bundles! When I was in England, many years ago, I took a picture of Paddington Station just for my mom. She got all choked up. 8mo
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @Singout I only just read three book a couple of years ago and I loved it. It was such a delight. I found a box set of the full series and hope to make my way through it this year or next. 8mo

Pub date 1958. Never read it before now. Adorable. Truth be told, I read it bc Hobonichi has a Paddington collection and I was curious about the book. And a fun finding was the author has my birthday!! He passed in 2017 at a ripe old age of 91. So happy I finally read it!

I think I was possessed by the spirit of Paddington yesterday when I did my post work grocery run in a pain haze…

Anyway. I‘m no closer to deciding what to have for dinner - but I have to be at work in an hour - so that‘s fun! (And then I have two days off!)

Cupcake12 I love marmalade on toast - enjoy x 13mo

The Paddington Bear 🐻 Picture Book is from #Foyles and is my present for my first niece/nephew next spring. I got the cat pin today at #waterstones, the Glossier lipstick 💄 is called „Portrait“ and the rest is from The National Gallery & state Britain. Yeah! Not included are my Christmas presents from Harrods & Selfridges from my parents.
