CindyMyLifeIsLit @dabbe Hmmm, that‘s a hard one. I‘m not really scared by books—I don‘t put the book down and start imagining the book monster coming out of the closet! (I do that with movies 😱)! I would say, out of these, The Shuddering is a 5, Frankenstein is a 2 (but beautifully written), Dracula and The September House (which also has dark humor) is a 3, and the rest are a 4. Library at Mount Char is more of a WTF read—it is WEIRD (but wonderful—and my fav)!! 2d

1. THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE: Shirley Jackson. The best ghost story ever written. 😱😱😱
2. THE ELEMENTALS: Michael McDowell. He wrote BEETLEJUICE and died way too young. 😱😱😱😱
3. THE ANNOTATED POE: Kevin J. Hayes, Editor. All of his best works PLUS annotations. It just doesn't get any better. 😱😱😱😱

Susanita No balloon rides for me either! I did knit a few janky potholders though. 1w

Singout 57! Some were a bit iffy. I, too, have never run in a race or done, hot air ballooning, although I would love to do the latter. I had a chance in university, but gave up my spot to a friend. 1w
