I'm far behind so here's a mega-post for the second half of the year.
July was the toughest month to choose because a couple other books were good. The Traveling Cat Chronicles made be ugly cry.
A Bear Called Paddington might be the best book I read this year.
Madam wins December only because I felt underwhelmed by all of the ones I read.
Paddington is an absolute lovable, funny bear. I enjoyed reading about this marmalade-loving bear and his mishaps. Stories that put a smile on my face.. from his pleasant manners to his ‘hard stares‘. And great to read about such kindness and goodness from the Brown family and the villagers. These are the kind of stories I know I would love if I‘ve read them when I was a child.
#ChildrensClassicRead2022 for November.
I haven‘t been making much progress on audiobooks lately, but I thought a short listen might be good change of pace for today. I listened to this first Padington book while I worked on a few things this morning and took the dogs (my sister‘s & my own) for a walk. It was a wonderfully entertaining and heartwarming story.

Another classic fun read discovered only cos of #childrensclassicread2022 it is heartwarming, cute story. It is now my daughter‘s fav bedtime story. Thank you @TheBookHippie ❤️💐😻
I knew of Paddington but I don't remember reading this as a child. What a delight! Paddington gets into some funny predicaments because of his adorable naivete. Bless the Brown family who just keep loving him along the way. I think I have a new "go to" gift for the littles in my life.

Read this for the first time! I found this charming and quirky enough without being overly twee. Paddington has his eccentricities, and having watched the movie, I'm glad to learn that "the Paddingston stare" is a thing. I loved Peggy Fortnum's illustrations as seen above; they gave me such joy. #ChildrensClassicRead2022 @TheBookHippie

Love! Love! Love! I definitely had Paddington Bear stories read to me as a young girl, but I‘m not sure I ever heard the original version before, and while I know this is read mostly by children, I actually appreciated it way more as an adult. The version I read had a fabulous afterword in which the author said he didn‘t write it for any particular age group because before writing this story he‘d written exclusively for adults,⬇️

Fun find!!! #childrensclassicread2022 November Paddington
I am very much enjoying this read very much!!!
repost for @TheBookHippie
Clearly I‘d no clue The Queen would have tea with Paddington or indeed leave us this year - that being said Paddington is our #childrensclassicread2022 NOVEMBER #BuddyRead. 🐻🍊
Everyone welcome!

Everyone welcome!
Well that was really cute!! And NOW I'm taking myself out for tea (aka dinner in most places that aren't the North of England haha) - never done that before but I think taking yourself on little dates is important!
Now off on this very autumnal Sunday to a Paddington Bear exhibition at The British Library!🐻🍂
This classic book about Paddington the bear is a MF, best used through IR. While reading, students embark on a journey with Paddington which is like no other. https://www.thoughtco.com/independent-reading-activities-to-increase-literacy-41... this link gives insight on how you can be sure students are comprehending while reading independently. #ucflae3414sp21
My sister laughs when I say it, but I think I read these books when I was too young. I didn‘t quite comprehend that Paddington was a bear, so lots didn‘t make sense to me. But I did know he was from Peru, which fits today‘s prompt of South America. 😊

Spotted a practically indecent Paddington Bear through an op shop window today.
I never read the Paddington books when I was a kid, so I was surprised to find out how sharply funny they are. Paddington is a lot more interesting than the soft, cuddly creature I was imagining. I love his personality, which is a lot like a real kid‘s. I love the scrapes he gets into. I read this one aloud to my boys and they asked for another Paddington book when we were done. Highly recommend this classic!
A book I remember with #Affection from my childhood, the first book I was given as a present from my aunt. #AboutAugust
For #booktomovie I have chosen Paddington Bear as well as a story about the story. #summerfunjr @StayCurious @4thhouseontheleft #page2screen

I listened to this book on audible, and absolutely loved the characters and the storyline.

Audio book read by Stephen Fry, who is always such a great narrator. We zoomed through it a bit quickly but enjoyed.
These ones bumped around in my bag for a few days before I made it to the post box...
Recently, I've been reading books that are kind of dark, so last week, I needed a little break.
While Diary of a Wimpy Kid was so-so for me, I really enjoyed A Bear Called Paddington. It was an entertaining and funny read, perfect to relax and spend a good time.
It‘s Book Week in Oz. As much as I ❤️ reading, I hate Book Week. I think the focus needs to be less on dressing up & more on reading. Matilda, almost 9 & not a reader, is dressed as Paddington ?. Linnéa is almost 11. She loves to read the same books over & over again & is dressed as 1 of the Musketeers. I tried to use things we already had & only buy things we could reuse e.g. Linnéa‘s shirt & belt are my size and Matilda‘s bag will be my spare.
This is a awesome, funny 😂 and family friendly book that I love. I remember that when I started reading it I couldn't keep my eyes of the book... Its very spectacular, because you can clearly imagine all the funny moments.
Great funny book that my daughter encouraged me to read. Fun book to read with your kid as well.
I loved the Paddington books when I was a kid because my mom passed them down. I have always wanted to travel to Peru because of these books. I hope to pass down Paddington to my little ones when they are older. I'm sure I have all the old copies somewhere in a box in my parents basement.

A fun and enjoyable read for young readers, featuring the marmalade-eating bear with impeccable manners! One of the most iconic of London‘s characters.
When the movie adaptation was first released, there was a ‘Paddington fever‘... statue in Sheldon Square constructed, Museum of London showcased its costumes, and there was even a Paddington Trail across London.

What do you do when you arrive at the station at 7:30am, a whole hour early in order to miss the rush hour crush? You squeeze in a paw print trail of course! #amongstfriends
1. The tagged book was one of the first books I owned. A present from an aunt, we didn‘t have much / any money.
2. Cake, preferably of the chocolate variety.
3. Never any time after reading and Work. Does Litsy count? I do enjoy travelling.
4. No specific location just a house with a good view of the sea and waves.

Thanks for the tag @Eggs 😍

This story is so cute. So cute. It start with the Brown family finding Paddington at Paddington station, and continue by telling stories of how Paddington is finding his way in the big city. The big city is not easy to navigate when you‘re from the darkest Peru.
Book 1 for #BookAWeek
I‘ve earlier seen the movie, and in case you‘re wondering: A lot is changed, almost everything. I hate that. Maybe the movie is based on several books?
Taking a short break from LesMis to start my first book for a #BookAWeek
Just finished the #Bossypants by Tina Fey. On to something a little different now. Read by Stephen Fry.
This episodic tale of a bear from Darkest Peru who finds himself a family in the Browns is charmingly read by Stephen Fry. Paddington (named for the station in which they found him) has a habit of finding trouble in innocent ways, stories I probably would've enjoyed more when I was younger.
My audio before bed for the last few days has been "A Bear Called Paddington" read by Stephen Fry.

Had to do a second post for this today. I totally forgot about Paddington, how could I forget about Paddington!!! A book set of Paddington books were the first books I owned (bought by my aunt), we didn‘t have much money, and gave me my love of reading. Sorry Paddington 😢 Won‘t happen again!

Today's emoji looks like luggage to me & Paddington always traveled with his suitcase
Oh Littens. I went to see Paddington 2 with my granddaughter Sofia today. It was absolutely brilliant! Would highly recommend to all. I had tears in my eyes at the end ❤️we loved it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It was hard to walk away without this beauty... but seeing as how I don't have kids yet I try not to stockpile all my childhood favourites 💗 #thriftstorefinds
I love the #rainbow spines of this classic children‘s series I discovered as an adult. Certainly I had heard of Paddington Bear before and I even had a Paddington stuffed animal as a kid, but I had never read the novels. I‘m not sure I even knew they WERE novels, having only seen picture book adaptations previously. They are great on audio too! #30daysofreadathon
#melodiousmusicals #ShrekTheMusical #BigBrightBeautifulWorld Shrek is sent out into the big bright beautiful world at the age of seven with a sandwich for the journey and his boots. This reminds me of my favourite bear, #Paddington, who keeps his marmalade sandwich under his hat and is wearing his red boots! He came all the way from Darkest Peru.
It rained so much today, that I spent a reasonable amount of time in cafes, reading and hoping that my shoes would dry out...
