I want to love this series, and the first one wasn't bad, but I just cannot get into this second book.

“Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows”.

Such a brilliant read. I was put off reading this after being forced to read ‘Animal Farm‘ in high school (I‘ve always resented being forced to read books not of my own choosing). Needless to say I‘m happy to have picked this up and forged ahead anyway. It is incredibly powerful, frighteningly insightful and so very relevant to our world today 👁

KathrynElise I also used this for my #popsugar19 ‘common phrase or idiom‘ prompt (I.e. “Big Brother”) 👍🏼 5y

I am ashamed to say I had this book on my shelf for a couple years and wasn't super in a hurry to read it, since bible stories aren't my grab, but THIS BOOK. What a wonderful story of the camaraderie and strength of women, of girls who become mothers and midwives and aunts and champions for each other. I loved this perspective of Dinah's story and am so glad I finally read it.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really enjoyed this book. It‘s a quick, easy read but it still delivered great story and fairly well-developed characters given the length of the book. I particularly liked the way Emily was written - she may be an A.I. (or an “A.C.” if you ask her) but she still came across as an extremely relatable character and that definitely added to my appreciation of Wheaton‘s work.

Also using this for my #popsugar19 “uni campus” read 👩🏼‍🏫

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A tragic, beautiful and moving story that, for me at least, hit close to home. Full of hard truths and revelations, this book wrapped itself around my heart and squeezed with all its might ❤️

On a side note, this is also probably the best Australian novel I‘ve read to date 👏🏼🇦🇺

Freaking loved this book. I wonder if Ms. Spence would think it creepy that I want to be her best friend.

A crazy cool premise following the storylines of three women and one man as society is turned upside down when young girls approaching puberty are suddenly found to have the power to electric shock anyone who they touch. Dystopian style novels that approach tough topics like rape culture and the patriarchy are right up my alley and this one was no exception. Continued in comments...

LoverofLit Some of the characters started strong and weren't as fully developed as I wish they were and slightly draggy writing. I'd definitely still recommend though! #popsugar19 #popsugarreadingchallenge A book about someone with a superpower 6y
