Beautifully written, just a little disappointed in the storyline. Going into this, I think I was just hoping for something a little more uplifting, and I didn‘t * really * get what I was looking for.. (I know, I know - a story set against a backdrop of the Russian revolution.. how could I possibly think that would have a happy ending, right?) 🤦🏼♀️
Needed a book set in Winter for my “seasonal” #popsugar read.. Apparently I‘m off to a good start 👍🏼❄️

pickValentina and Luka are rising stars in the Imperial Russian Ballet. But with revolution in the air, and the country divided, the day‘s of the indulgent Romanov ballet look almost over, leaving the pair with a difficult choice about their love for each other, their country, and their lives as dancers.
❄️ Really well researched, and evocative in it‘s description of Russia 1914-1920. A treat to read ❄️

I‘ve been super quiet on Litsy lately, but with good reason - I was celebrating the release and launch of my debut novel! On shelves in Australia and New Zealand now, with ebooks available in USA. Further countries hopefully coming soon!
Look what arrived today! It‘s the first time I‘ve seen the finished book in person, and I‘m not going to lie, I reacted like this: 😭😭😭.
So many years of work have gone into this, and there was so much fear and doubt I‘d never see this day. It‘s a dream come true.

An early review of my book from a reader who was a principal ballerina in Russia. Her words mean so much to me - to be able to capture someone‘s experience and share it with the world in a way they feel is authentic is a dream and everything I wanted to achieve with this book. I‘m hoping other readers will have similar experiences, whether they are dancers, dance-lovers, history buffs, or just enjoy a good story.
