This is a strong poem/collection of poems. It‘s a loose collection of segments that combine to make a larger poem. The theme is the AIDS crisis in the US and the author‘s loss of a close friend/lover. Some of what I chose to view as humor was very dark. I‘m still not sure if I was supposed to laugh in those instances or not. TW for death and some graphic stuff relating to dying of AIDS. Overall, I highly recommend this one. It was very well done.

Is anyone else participating in the #QueerLitReadathon in June? I think I went a little overboard with building a TBR 😬

This was incredible. Baldwin conveys so much about humanity, shame, pain, love, and hatred in this story. The writing is open, honest, raw, and so very human. I am in awe. Definitely a new favorite. I cannot wait to discuss this at my next LGBT+ book club meeting at the end of this month!

Curious about this one... but then again, I usually am about titles dealing with the idea of angels among us... but not in a religious context.

This one was in today's library order and coded as YA fiction 😊

And a very tiny, almost insignificant sneak peek at what the process of building an order looks like on the Acquisition side of #librarylife.

Plus all my little post-it note reminders 😁

charl08 Is this too obvious? I am not the target audience, but dis think it was very well done. 3y
Karisa Magnus Chase's Alex Fierro is genderfluid. Prince and the Dressmaker's prince likes to dress in drag but not exactly nonbinary. Catfishing on Catnet has a few nonbinary characters. Technically YA but feels like a young YA to me 3y

I didn‘t come out until well after high school, but so much of what main character Dean went through during his self-discovery process resonated with me. I saw myself in Dean‘s journey and couldn‘t put this book down.

This one releases in April and is well worth a preorder.

After the debate I needed something to cheer me up. This book has blurbs by Becky Albertalli, Adam Silvera, Angie Thomas, Gayle Forman, and Adib Khorram (Darius the Great Is Not Okay—which was probably my favorite read of 2018); so I thought I‘d give it a try.

I have two pages to go and I want to rate it with hearts instead of stars: ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

It has its issues, but I still loved it.
