Pickpick

Brilliant! A "POC" (person of color) discovers the benefits and opportunities of false victimhood. And in case you're wondering, no, it's not a biography of Ta-Nehisi Coates. ?

Bailedbailed

I had to bail on this one. It seems like a really good book, but I‘ll have to read the physical book. This book is so dense that with the audiobook, the words go in one ear and out the other.

“DiAngelo illuminates the phenomenon of white fragility and “allows us to understand racism as a practice not restricted to ‘bad people‘. Referring to defensive moves white people make when challenged racially, white fragility is characterized by emotions such as anger, fear, and guilt, and argumentation and silence. These behaviors then function to reinstate white racial equilibrium and prevent any meaningful cross-racial dialogue.”

TheBookgeekFrau @marleed Me too! I finally read Bomber Mafia and never in a million years did I think I would be enthralled by the history of precision bombing. And yet there I was turning the pages like they were the air I needed to breathe 5mo

How many books about Shakespeare do you read a year? I average 1-2! Shakespeare scholar and Globe Theatre director Karin-Cooper explores how race is portrayed and performed in Shakespeare‘s plays. It‘s a must-read for former Lit majors!! 🎭

Suet624 I average 0. :) 5mo
Andrea313 1-2 is the norm for me as well, and this one is going on my list! Thanks! 5mo
