Quichotte | Salman Rushdie

Omg, this book 😳😮😍💗💓💕💞. I'm not sure I can say enough to give this book its due. This is Rushdie at his best. Magical realism at its finest. Storytelling at its peak. This. THIS is the type of literary fiction that I adore. A modern retelling of Don Quixote told by a master.

Highly HIGHLY recommended. Possibly my favorite read of the year.

Thank you to #randomhouse for the #arc.

Bookish.SAM Wow. That‘s some high praise 😊 4w
gossamerchild @Bookish.SAM 😂 Rushie IS one of my favorite contemporary writers, so I'm probably a little biased :-) 4w

A powerful debut novel. Beautiful writing and brilliant storytelling. Captured love, racism and slavery with heart and brutal honesty. If you enjoy historical fiction and magical realism, you might enjoy this too. Full review on hookedonbookz.com

Definitely gonna be one of my top reads of the year! I loved everything about it! It had got very strong character portrayals (even the minor roles!), and plot and pacing were on point! Felt like it was for YA but not targeted/marketed as so. Still, it was a very good read! Strong pick!

This one was a wonderful surprise! Evvie Drake‘s emotionally abusive husband dies on the day she plans to leave him, and the rest of the book deals with how she comes to terms with guilt, abandonment issues (mom) and trying to be a “fixer”. Wonderful characters (especially loved her bff relationship), a slow, get-to-know, burn of a love interest and ultimately a path towards self-healing for Evvie. Fast read, loved it! 💙💚💙💚 5/5⭐️ Out 6/25 ⬇️

robinb Big thanks to #NetGalley, #RandomHouse and #BallantineBooks for providing me the ARC! The opinions are strictly my own. 6mo

I enjoyed this one, my first by Boyne. I didn‘t love it, likely because I like to like at least some characters in a book and found that challenging with this one. I‘ve had it since well before it was published and only now finished it, if that tells you anything. The writing was phenomenal and well-researched. Thanks #NetGalley and #randomhouse

Djspens I really enjoyed The Heart‘s Invisible Furies by Boyne. 9mo

Such a heart-wrenching book. As a mother, it left me teary, thinking of those who have lost their loved ones. It's difficult to even think about it, what more talk and write about it. Albeit a little repetitive in some parts, overall it's an insightful, moving and beautifully-written book. Made me hold my little ones even closer.

Full review on my blog.

Thank you #Netgalley & #RandomHouse for a free #eARC in exchange for an honest review.

greenreads Hello! I don't know him or his other book that you've mentioned in your review. Is it okay to start with this one? Also, does it delve in American politics too much or can non-Americans relate to this? 10mo
Wellreadhead @grayidlings If you‘re not familiar with him then this book would be a great place to start. It‘s not a political book at all really, at least it‘s not intended to be, so you shouldn‘t have any problems relating to it‘s content, thanks 10mo
greenreads Thank you! 10mo
