This #raw and gritty memoir about a former East LA gang member that finds his way out of gangs through poetry and activism was recommended to me. I read it years ago and I currently have Rodriguez's follow up book on my tbr.
Day 27 #FallIntoBooks #Raw Rather than go with raw emotions, I decided to go with raw foods cookbooks from my shelves.😆 I went through a phase but decided that it's a lot of hassle & prep to eat raw all of the time & on just raw foods I felt empty most of the time. I still make certain dishes from many of these books (there are lots of juices, smoothies, sauces, soups & dressings that are easy & tasty) that I work into my eating plan.🥑🍉🥒🥗🍎💚
I can't think of a book I've read that is more #raw than this one. Read it for feminist book club a couple of years back and led to some intense discussions about female sexuality, pornography, prostitution, rape, and exploitation. The author writes in a very raw manner about her sexual experiences. It is disturbing and intense. #micropress #fallintobooks #tyrantbooks
