This #raw and gritty memoir about a former East LA gang member that finds his way out of gangs through poetry and activism was recommended to me. I read it years ago and I currently have Rodriguez's follow up book on my tbr.

This was an entertaining #Audiobook but I think I may have had too high of expectations based on the reviews I read from both strangers and family! Though I had fun #AudioColoring to it! #RecommendedToYou @Tiffy_Reads @JoeStalksBeck

@Cinfhen - books I would have given my younger self. All the current social justice books that are about. The feminist books about at the time were too academic, middle class and educated- I wanted something more inclusive - which gladly exist now

One of the library staff and I swap book recommendations. She absolutely loved this and told me I had to read it. If British royalty is your thing, take a look at the latest Charles biography. I was told it is unbiased, which would be nice - present all of the good and the bad of someone for readers to see the whole person. Looking forward to reading this! #recommendedtoyou #autumnreads
