This was almost a DNF. But, when I got surprised by who Katy runs into in Positano the story really took off for me. The ending was a little disappointing because I would've liked some kind of explanation. Overall, it was good story to get lost in.

willaful I really like her but I can't bear to read about people grieving their mothers now mine is so frail. 😞 7d
TheBookgeekFrau @willaful I get that. The beauty of books is, they'll still be around when you're ready for them. 7d

I always thought Michael Schiavo was a bit of a scheve, and a piece of shit right up to the end. But I never thought he had anything to do with Terri's collapse. I think differently now.

Overall, it was an interesting read that I'm glad I came across at a library book sale last year.

Such a compelling and emotional read of loss and grief. The ending, however, was too drawn out and repetitive.

It made zero difference that I haven't read Firefly Lane, which I didn't know was book 1.

Last few Star Wars books have been the same damn plot--kidnap, rescue, lots of close calls. It's been like reading a season of The A-Team.

Very similar to their other collection: My Nest Isn't Empty...
Cute, and lighthearted, but I felt like I'd already read it.

dabbe I loved the movie with Angela Lansbury as the evil mother. I never tried the book, though, and now I definitely won't! 😂 1mo
TheBookgeekFrau @dabbe I think I'd rather watch the movie! 😱 The story sounds intriguing, but the writing is word salad galore 😖 Also--HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS TO YOU!!! 🎊💙🎊🥳💙 1mo

An angsty and sweet love story. And can I just say, both sets of parents are parenting goals!

bookandbedandtea I've been meaning to read this. I love hearing that there are good parents in it. 2mo
TheBookgeekFrau @bookandbedandtea It was a refreshing change to read such good parents!! It's a very quick read, if that helps to slot in your schedule. 2mo
bookandbedandtea @TheBookgeekFrau Refreshing is exactly what I was thinking. As a parent, it sometimes gets tedious to read about so many awful parents. 😣 2mo
Reggie I saw the author at a bookstore and he said that one of the nicest comments he ever got was from a mom who got flowers from her son after he read his book because he said she was an awesome mom. 2mo
TheBookgeekFrau @Reggie That's awesome 💞 1mo

Not my favorite of her memoirs. As it is a memoir of her family tribe there was just so much going on with all the various family members that the writing felt choppy. I did very much love the tribe living though; and if I could, I too would have my whole family within a six block radius.
