This fictional #picturebook focuses on the first person narration of a young child who says and does mean things to Van Gogh. I‘m not 100% sure of the audience age on this one - some bigger words and the narration just seems more for an older audience. I do love the illustrations in this one - so Van Gogh-esque. #BBRC #LetterA

I find it interesting when I read to my students that when you ask about feelings, they can only name 3: happy, sad, or mad. This book forced us to talk about very complex feelings like jealousy and guilt, which are really combinations of shame and worry. #WCCPBA 2023 nominee #underthedustcover #readoutloud

Bookzombie I enjoyed this one! I usually enjoy Higgins‘ books though. 2y
mandarchy @Bookzombie I think all of his characters are hysterical. 2y

Unlike typical picture books meant to teach kids kindness, this doesn‘t have a happy ending. We never find out exactly what happened to the girl who was bullied, & the main character is left with a poignant sense of regret that she learned a valuable lesson too late. But the book itself isn‘t unkind, & I wouldn‘t hesitate to share it with young kids. I think they‘ll learn from it & appreciate the realism. #KindnessDay #NovemberNarrative

This book is about a young girl who does not accept a new girl at school. This young girl quickly is taught the power of kindness.

This is a great read-aloud for any aged student, or adult about the power of each kindness.

Will definitely be using this in my future classroom

Published in 2012, This story is about Two little girls, Chloe and Maya. Chloe didn't show much kindness to Maya and their teacher gave a lesson about kindness to them. After the lesson, Chloe was upset that she didn't show Maya Kindness and lost a friendship because of it. Maya ended up leaving the school because people weren't showing her kindness.
