I love Mary Stewart and enjoyed this reread (re-listen?) while I worked.

Started out great then kind of fizzled to what I‘m not sure… maybe I need to read the first book connected to this to completely understand it idk but it was okay I‘m used to loving her books so at sometime in the future reread it

Tried both print and audio but could not engage either way. Early dnf.
Martyn Waites‘s novel (the first in a series) marries thriller and folk horror but because there‘s so much going on it‘s less than the sum of its parts. It has good pacing and there are some creepy moments, but the plot is heavily contrived at times and neither Tom nor Lila quite convince as characters while the antagonist is similarly underdeveloped. It‘s not a bad book, I kept turning the pages, but it wasn‘t as satisfying a read as I‘d hoped.
I used to read lots of his books. Somehow I missed this one. It was not what I expected but I enjoyed it. I liked Jimmy Tock and his family. A different kind of thriller. 4/5⭐️

I haven't read a Linda Howard book in a long time. I enjoyed this book. Howard had good character development. The story line was interesting. Baily Weston is in charge of her stepchildrens trust and they are not happy at all about that. She goes on vacation but ends up in a plane crash. Will her and the pilot be found?
😊 Happy Reading 😊

In 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐁𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬, 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢 𝐑𝐲𝐚𝐧's lead character has secrets that, if revealed, could derail her career, destroy her reputation, &/or decimate her happy family. It's a clever, twisty, thought-provoking thriller at the center of which is a sympathetic woman who fears reverberations from a choice she was forced to make many yrs. ago. Gripping & entertaining. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I enjoy the early morning darkness. It feels quiet, soothing. I actually do not like “ fall back” time. The sun sets much too early. #coffeeandbooks #10BeforetheEnd
Enjoy your day!
