Ice: A Novel | Linda Howard
post image
Pickpick

This is an oldie that I picked up at a used book sale. I used to love reading Linda Howard and thought I‘d give this a try. An ice storm traps Lolly in her mountain home and the local sheriff sends Gabriel to warn her. When he arrives, he finds her in the middle of a home invasion. A quick read (less than 200 pages) about their survival against the villains and the Ice/snow. I‘d probably recommend reading this in the winter!!

Well that‘s April done, a much better reading month.

26 books read, 7 physical books, 8 ebooks, 11 audiobooks. Close to 10,000 pages read and 328 pages on average a day.

Water and Earth by John Boyne
No Sweet Sorrow by Denzil Meyrick
None of this is True by Lisa Jewell
Devil You Know by Neil Lancaster
Murder on the Clyde by Daniel Sellers
A Stranger in the Family by Jane Casey
Stop Them Dead by Peter James

I got up to date on 5 series.

Andrew65 My favourite Audiobook was The Dutch House by Ann Patchett read by Tom Hanks

20 of the the 26 books were series books. #SeriesLove2024 @TheSpineView

Identity | Nora Roberts

Pickpick

I‘ve only read a few Nora Roberts, but I noticed the was real similar to The Obsession thematically & with how the FMC & love interest interact. There are enough differences but I can see the formula, but she writes 4 books a year I would imagine it would be impossible not to.
Anyway, home improvement inspo, traumatized but coping FMC, lovable side characters & found family are met by Vermont mountains, the FBI & drink recipes you can almost taste

I haven't read Koontz in several years, though he's been a favorite of mine since I was a kid. Pulled this one from the stacks at the library recently, and dove in head first without any idea what it would be about. It was bizarre, but it was really good too. To that point, I'm not sure I've ever really read anything by him that wasn't.

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Edited to add: The banter between Aleem and Kuba was amazing!!!

How awful! 😐🫣😱

Safe to assume none of my fellow Litsy family would do such a vile thing. 😝

wanderinglynn No, no, no! That library would be my nightmare. 😱 5d

Kill For Me Kill For You | Steve Cavanagh

⭐️⭐️

A fast and twisty read, but a little predictable at some points and too implausible at other points. The characters‘ motivations were underdeveloped and didn‘t always make sense. I loved Peter Swanson‘s “The Kind Worth Killing” and preferred that “Strangers on a Train”-inspired book over this one. 🎧

KathyWheeler I love The Kind Worth Killing. 6d
