The much-anticipated final book in New York Times bestselling author Kimberly McCreight’s Outliers trilogy. KEEP YOUR ENEMIES CLOSE. Wylie is finally out of the detention center, but that doesn’t mean she’s safe. As much as she wants to forget everything that's happened and return to her normal life, Wylie knows that true freedom means discovering, once and for all, who is hunting the girls who are Outliers—and why. Armed with only a few clues and a handful of trusted allies, Wylie sets out to separate fact from fiction. But soon she is unearthing long-buried secrets and finds herself entangled in a conspiracy that is much bigger and more dangerous than she ever could have imagined. Worse yet, the nearer Wylie gets to discovering the truth, the closer her enemies get to silencing her and the other girls. This time, maybe forever. In the explosive conclusion to New York Times bestselling author Kimberly McCreight’s Outliers series, Wylie learns that when danger lurks in unexpected places, fighting for who and what you believe in can matter even more than you realized . . . and that trusting yourself might be the one thing that saves you.

So disappointing!
This series started out fantastic, I was so glad to find a YA that wasn't all Love and Butterflies. But it just went down hill from there; concluding with this disjointed story.
It's almost as if what happened in the first book and the conclusion of the series have nothing to do with one another.

So disappointed. I was so excited for this book to come out and it was just... ugh. In some sense, it was a fast read, because the plot moves quickly, but often it didn‘t really hold my attention. I also had a hard time following what was going with all of the zillions of characters. The first books were not recapped at all, so I can‘t pull all three books together well

Cinfhen Hate when that happens! 6y

Starting to think it‘s not me, it‘s the book. I was so looking forward to this book, mostly because of the big cliffhanger at the end of the last one. Well the cliffhanger was answered on page 1. I‘m now on page 160 (right about halfway) and I‘m still hazy on what All. These. people. (Seriously so many names and most of them are weird) did in the first two books. Usually books in a trilogy will have some little reminders of what happened but no.

Oh dear, it‘s been so long since I read the other books... the last one more than a year ago, that I am forgetting all the names and what happened and who all these people are. I might have to google up some refreshers.

My library hold FINALLY came in on this one (I was the only hold and the library indicated they received the book on 7/5, but it just got to me today). But my eyes and brain are way too tired to start on this tonight. I guess this is tomorrow‘s book!

So, it seems I‘m literally the only person in the entire world excited for this book. It was released last Tuesday, but my library system only had two copies on order and is taking its sweet time getting them processed and out. No reviews here or on goodreads. Anyone else reading this series?

Skyrimir I‘ll have to check it out. I liked her book Reconstructing Amelia a lot. 6y
MelissaSue81 @Skyrimir - it the third in a trilogy. The first one is The Outliers and the second one is The Scattering 6y
Jess7 I‘ve read a couple of her books and liked them a lot. I‘ve read Reconstructing Amelia and Where They Found Her. I own The Outliers and borrowed The Scattering awhile ago from my library but never got around to reading them. I like her writing. @TheFunkyBookworm have you read the series or the others I mentioned by this author. I think the books I read might have been YA so she may a good author to consider for the YA stuff you do 6y

MelissaSue81 @jess7 @TheFunkyBookworm - yes.. this trilogy is YA. Quite a bit different from her other books, as it has a bit of a sci fi element, as well, particularly in the first book. 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @Jess7 @MelissaSue81 thanks for the tag- I haven‘t read this series but it sounds good! I read Reconstructing Amelia many moons ago and really enjoyed it. 6y
Bostonmomx2 I was about to say I‘d never heard of this author, not realizing she wrote Reconstructing Amelia. I also enjoyed that one quite a bit. Based on the cover alone, the tagged book doesn‘t call to me tho. Hope you enjoy it!! 6y
