Panpan

An average teen summer read. I do not think there's anything special about this one.
Teenage girl from a somewhat broken family, going through a “break,“ meets a new cool guy, life changes, and now gotta choose between the two.

I think there are too many good books out there to take out time for this one.
2/5🌟

Same Time Next Summer | Annabel Monaghan

audiobook ISBN 9780593742013

Wyatt broke Sam's heart 12 years ago since when she hasn't seen him but this summer she takes her fiancé to her family's beach house - and Wyatt is there too.

Ch 24; still haven't got to the reason for their break-up. Looks suspiciously like Sam's family is throwing them together in spite of the fact that she & Jack are looking for a wedding venue.

humouress I like both of Monaghan's books that I've read; the clean romance aspect & the thrill of falling in love.

I chose the audio book because I really liked the audio of 'Nora Goes off Script' read by Hillary Huber. But this was read by Brittany Pressley (& Dan Bittner for 'Wyatt'); both had a southern accent and dragged the ends of sentences which worked for Wyatt (made him sound laid back) but not so much for the narration - or, really, for Sam. ⬇️

humouress ⬆️ And I couldn't always tell what was spoken vs thought. She did have a good variety of voices, so I could tell who was speaking but I was a little distracted by her style of narration. Mind you, not the worst I've heard by a long shot. I was just spoiled by Huber 😊 (edited) 3d

This had such a nostalgic style! Louise is the youngest of the cousins who all spend the summer with their grandmother who lives near the beach. Being the youngest, she gets left out as the older girls crush on cute guys at the beach & smoke cigarettes. She ends up befriending a mischievous ghost, who has a family connection. A beautiful coming of age story, filled with very realistic sibling behaviour & the sad realities of the passage of time.

I'm going to give this a try. I've been having a hard time settling on a book to read.

Have you ever bonded with a stranger over a book?

Ruthiella Over loving to read yes, but not over a specific book (except here on Litsy of course 😄) 1mo

Wow. I mean… wow. I don‘t know what I was expecting from this book, but it was definitely not this.

Mehso-so

I am a fan of YA romances, and I kind of loved the series on Prime so o read the book. They literally have different endings. I actually preferred the show this time. Very rare.
