The narrative of this book was all over the place. Plot points were randomly dropped into the story and never mentioned again. Because the characters were adult women who had known each other since elementary school, you often felt like you were overhearing private conversations without being privy to any of the history. It‘s a strange and unnecessarily confusing way of building a narrative.

I tried with this one…50% in and I just don‘t care about these characters anymore. And I also can‘t remember who is who and which kid belongs to which family.

Doing a sweep of my Kindle looking for something to read and stumbled upon this…Went into it blindly and already at 10%. Reviews on Litsy seemed to be mixed so let‘s see how this goes…

This one was pretty slow, and really sad, but it was an okay study of characters and relationships, and had a few surprises, too.

Spending the evening drinking wine out of my official mad-at-the-world mug (it‘s too small for coffee, but the perfect size for booze).

I‘m really happy with the way my #BookspinBingo board shook out. I was already planning to finish the center square today, and it‘s on the same row as my #doublespin, #lmpbc, and #foodandlit books. Could this be the month I finally get a Bingo???!!!???

Side note: what do y‘all use to make your Bingo boards? I love the way it looks when I do it on Pic Collage, but it takes forEVER. Excel is easy, but I‘m never as happy with the results.

This was okay.

It's about three best friends whose sons become best friends.

Tragedy strikes when the boys get ahold of a gun while they are under the influence.

This wasn't the page-turner that I hoped it would be, but the last page made me gasp with a twist I hadn't picked up on.

4/10. Three kids get ahold of a gun while under the influence. One kid left too traumatized to speak. Had potential but did not deliver. Very redundant. Explains the same situations 3-4 times in a row, and there are a lot of characters but none interesting enough to be memorable. The ending was a dud.

Sunshine & books while stealing a few moments in my best bud's fenced back yard with the dogs. No ottoman? A child's train set will do lol

6-10-23: My 65th finished book of 2023! Dani, Lindsey and Kendra have been best friends since elementary school. Now, their teenage sons Caleb, Jacob and Sawyer are also best friends. After an accident leaves one dead, one in a coma and one too traumatized to speak, the mothers lives are changed forever. This was a very sad story from beginning to end. The marriages and friendships were full of tragic flaws. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️📖#️⃣6️⃣5️⃣

The plus side of my son volunteering at the library: having somewhere to donate my used books and an excuse to go in and look around for things to check out. The downside: the friends of the library room you have to walk through to get into the actual library 🤣. But I got all three for $7 so not too bad!
