The Flip Side: A Novel | James Bailey

#BookReport - Made good progress this week. Enjoyed the Broken Earth trilogy, but it was also pretty down so I wasn't exactly sorry to see it end, either lol Devil's Cub was delightful Heyer frivolity, Active Defense was an engaging thriller, & I'm about halfway through The Flip Side, my first read for #NewYearWhoDis & it's so fun!

If I want to hit my page goal for #AnyWayYouReadathon, I need to finish The Flip Side, Brazil, & Ways to Disappear ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) by the end of Sunday, so a lot of reading to get into. Just need to convince my husband that reading is more important than working on our current construction project 😂

TheAromaofBooks @kimmypete1 @MidnightBookGirl - It's slightly ridiculous but not too far at this point haha And it's fun to read a romcom from the guy's perspective. 4y
Cinfhen Two Brazil books!!! Impressive #OverAchiever 😜😘 4y
Cinfhen Wow!!!! You read ALL THREE NKJ books....I called it last time...#TeachersPet xxxxx 4y
TheAromaofBooks @Cinfhen - I know, right? I even get excited about fake school 😂 I thought it would be fun to read one nonfiction & one fiction for each country in #foodandlit but we will see if I keep it up through the whole year haha Broken Earth trilogy was already on my TBR so it was actually kind of fun to get it checked off with bonus points!! 4y

#WeeklyForecast - I am trying to start the month with my "assignments" before moving on to my general TBR reads. Starting with The Broken Earth books (actually finished The Fifth Season last night) for #authoramonth then on to the Heyer book which needs to go back to the library. Active Defense is a publisher's review, The Flip Side is for #NewYearWhoDis & the next two are for #foodandlit !! I'm excited about the challenges I'm doing this year ⬇️

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) a good mix of books I've been meaning to read anyway & books that are stretching me a little!!

Texreader I think that‘s a great idea and I‘ll probably try the same thing. 4y

Cinfhen I‘m thinking of reading this one too 4y
TheAromaofBooks @Texreader - I was mixing in the “assigned“ reading with everything else throughout the month last year, but realized that it was low-key stressing me out if I wasn't getting them done “in time“ despite the fact that literally no one cares but me! 😂 So this year I'm trying to read those first - I think it will also help me assess if I'm trying to participate in too many challenges or not!! 4y
TheAromaofBooks @Cinfhen - That was the one the library had, so the fates decided for me!! 😂 And I do feel silly calling them assignments, but haven't come up with a better term. I always did enjoy school, though, so maybe this is just me subconsciously trying to fill the gap!! 😅 4y
Texreader @TheAromaofBooks That exactly describes my feelings too! So yea, good plan!! 4y
Butterfinger I know that is why I do challenges. I want to go back to school to get my doctorate degree, but it is not the right time so this makes me feel like I do when I am in school. Excited about the planning, the journaling, all of it. 4y
TheAromaofBooks @Butterfinger - Yes!! I love the planning, organizing, & tracking just as much as I do the actual reading!! 4y
