This is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast. I believe it‘s more of a Russian or Slavic version from what the names are and the descriptions of where they are. I actually really enjoyed this retelling. Enough so that I bought the ebook so that I could finish what I started as an audiobook during thanksgiving. It‘s very different from Disney‘s version if that‘s what you‘re used to. But don‘t worry, books still play an important role. 😉 #fairytale

Continuing my #RussianLit2017 reading with this retelling of Vasilisa the Beautiful from #theretellingbookswap. So far, it is good - weird and mysterious, just like a retelling of a Russian fairy tale should be 👌

And when it is paired with iced coffee and chocolate, I can't be anything other than happy!

I received this book from @CoffeeCatsBooks for #TheRetellingBookSwap. It is not something I would have picked out for myself but it was a good collection of short stories and it is beautifully illustrated. I may be a little creeped out if I find myself in the woods anytime soon.

I borrowed this audiobook from the library as a potential pick for #TheRetellingBookswap. I didn't get to it in time, but I figured I should read it anyway before it expired. Why did I wait?! This #fairytaleretelling was outstanding! Valente is a phenomenal storyteller. Do yourself a favor and don't wait to read this like I did!

P.S. Julia Whelan, the narrator, was impressively good. Experience this on audiobook, if you can.
