I just finished the tagged book, which got me to a total of 22 books read in October! I have never read this much in a single month before 😱

I loved doing my #RussianLit2017 in the beginning of October. Never have I managed to stick to a tbr so well 😄

A good read, but maybe a bit too long. It dragged for me in certain parts, while others had my heart beating faster and I couldn't turn the pages quick enough. It was a dark retelling of a dark Russian fairy tale 👌

This was my last book on my #RussianLit2017 tbr, and I have had so much fun with reading a lot of Russian and Russian inspired literature 👍

I'm going home to my home town to visit my parents and friends, and bus time equals reading time 👌

#Currentlyreading #RussianLit2017

julesG What is Danish for Mordor? Now I need to know! 6y
Kalalalatja @julesG haha - think it is the same ? the bag is part of an initiative called Atlas over Aarhus, which is trying to "publish" literature in new and different ways, and this was one of them ? 6y
Elisa Oh man, that is one of the main reasons why I love traveling by train — reading time!! Have a great visit, and enjoy your book! (edited) 6y

ephemeralwaltz Aw yes! @Elisa I'm hoping to have some reading time on the train today!- 6y
Kalalalatja @Elisa @ephemeralwaltz I have way too little transportation time 😱 6y
Elisa @ephemeralwaltz @Kalalalatja unfortunately I use the car day to day because it‘s more practical with a family and errands, but that‘s one big plus of having the Kindle always with me — every time I am standing still or waiting (for the bus, for the train, at the doctor‘s, at the post office) turns into reading time! 😁 6y

Continuing my #RussianLit2017 reading with this retelling of Vasilisa the Beautiful from #theretellingbookswap. So far, it is good - weird and mysterious, just like a retelling of a Russian fairy tale should be 👌

And when it is paired with iced coffee and chocolate, I can't be anything other than happy!

Leniverse OMG! Chocolate with Heksehyl! I want some! Why can't my current country of residence appreciate salmiak liquorice! 😭 6y
Kalalalatja @Leniverse it is the best! I'm so sad for all the people out there who haven't discovered the joys of salty liqourice! 😳 also, I'm always a bit surprised when someone recognizes my Danish candy 😂 6y
Leniverse I haven't had the pleasure of that particular chocolate bar, but I do know Heksehyl as liquorice tubes filled with salty liquorice paste goodness! (Jeg er opprinnelig fra Norge) 😉 We have a Danish shop (Tiger) in our Welsh town, and they used to supply me with liquorice fish and salty liquorice boiled candies, but I think I was the only person buying them because now they only sell sweet liquorice. 😭 6y
Kalalalatja @Leniverse my grandmother is from Norway! 😄 and that sucks! I love the candy from Tiger in Denmark, so I can only imagine how you must suffer! 👎 6y

What a weird, awesome, dark and twisted collection of modern fairy tales! Stories about a father, who finds his child in an abandoned house, an apocalypse, the places we go to when we die and so mich more. I did try to read one story a day, but I think they work better if you read it in little chunks at a time. I will definitely pick up more of Petrushevskaya's works 👍

#RussianLit2017

Ashley_Nicoletto I immediately looked this up on Amazon. This looks like something I need. 😂 6y
Kalalalatja @Ashley_Nicoletto if you like dark, magical, kinda scary, and weird stories, this is definitely for you! 😄 6y
mariaku21 Oooh by the cover alone looks good. Adding to the tbr list for "magical, kinda scary" 6y
Kalalalatja @mariaku21 the cover is tied to one of the stories and it was so good! 6y

Awesome ending to the trilogy. There were some twists and turns I hadn't expected in this one, and I gasped along with the characters. The pacing felt more fitting in this book compared to the second, which made it a much better reading experience.

Cinfhen Stunning cover 😍😍😍 6y
erzascarletbookgasm This cover is amazing. It‘d be more amazing if the other two are in the same edition. Just saying. 6y
Kalalalatja @erzascarletbookgasm I know. It hurts my eyes a bit everytime I look at them together 😳 6y

I enjoyed this, but it wasn't as good as the first book in the series. There was a lot of action in the beginning and at the end, but the middle was a bit too uneventful. I'm loving the the world inspired by Russia and Russian myths though! 👌

Aninski What is the book on the far right? Love that spine! 6y
Aninski @Kalalalatja wow 😍 a strong candidate for my next #blameitonLitsy purchase! 😜 6y
Kalalalatja @Aninski it is such a beautiful book, and filled with fairy tales about badass females 👌👌 6y

#Lookwhatyoumademedo Leigh Bardugo! I can't focus on uni readings these days because of this series, so I'm starting my Fall vacation a bit early, and relaxing with a coffee and Siege and Storm before class 📖☕️

Also, I am the biggest fan of these chapter headings 👌

Lindy Thanks for showing off the gorgeous chapter page design. 👍 6y

What a great read! It had #nosurprises and follow the YA fantasy recipe of a young, plain girl, who discovers her powers, finds herself as the one who need to save the world, while dealing with a love triangle. But it was still great! Sometimes you just need something familiar, and this hit the spot for me.

@Mommamanzi sorry, I read it so fast! I just couldn't put it down. How are you feeling about it? 😄

#Rocktober #RussianLit2017

AlaMich I wanted to like this so badly, but after about 50 pages it just wasn't ringing my bell. 6y
Cinfhen Pretty photo💙💙💙 6y
Kalalalatja @AlaMich I think, a part of why I like it so much, have something to do with the timing. I really needed something easy and fun, and this hit the spot for me. But sorry to hear it didn't do the same for you! 6y

Kalalalatja @Cinfhen thanks 💙 I tried to go for a shadowy look 😄 6y
Mommamanzi Man you were quick! Haha I am SOOOOO in love with it! Just wish I had an extra hour in the day to read. It's exactly everything I love in a book! 6y
Kalalalatja @Mommamanzi I couldn't stop once I got going - luckily I have next week off from uni, so I can catch up on some of the stuff I didn't get to read this week because I was reading S&B 😂 6y
