For the last 7 years I‘ve read a biography based off a list The Washington Post published of the best bios for each president. I was eager to read about Jackson who is almost mythic in American history, &I was interested to see the presumed strengths of his presidency weighed against the weaknesses of his character.This book, unfortunately, didn‘t deliver that.Really disappointed in this rose-colored-glasses view of a man who didn‘t deserve them.

Yes. I was fascinated.

It‘s Black History Month a selection from the collection. Reminds me I need to do a major reorganization!So many titles lost in stacks , shelves & piles. I haven‘t read all of these either.

Read aloud has a new book in town.

Bailed a few chapters in, this one is not for me!

Next up for reading. At around 870 pages, it's likely going to take a while to get through.

This was an emotional read for me! I was in 4th grade in Florida when it happened. My class stepped outside to watch so I saw the explosion live in the sky. And in hindsight there were so many reasons to not launch that day 😔 The story was well told by the author.

By the time the design was complete...engineers... still believed they were employing a tried-and-tested joint for their new rocket: they had avoided any potentially dangerous innovation. But this was a convenient delusion.... in creating a man-rated, fail-safe joint they had also modified it so extensively that what they produced was, in effect, a quite new and experimental design.
