White Read Aloud Award, ForeWord Magazine's book of the year, and the 2009 Notables Book of the Association for Library Service to Children.
pickThis book was published in 2009, and won the Golden Kite award. This is a funny story about a bear trying to keep out a mouse, but in the end, the bear and mouse become friends. This is a great book for kids and I definitely recommend it.

Best part about working on Saturdays is the library's special #visitors, like Finn here. He's a trained volunteer for the library's Read With Me event.

I haven't done much reading today as I was busy spending the day with my wonderful mum who's been visiting us in California for two months and is flying back to Singapore tomorrow! We will miss her!

pickSierra and her family are #Visitors to a California town to sell 🎄🎄, and with such a Hallmark-esque YA Christmas plot, this book is cute and festive and romantic, naturally. I'm looking forward to doing a reread this month.

It has become tradition to honor family members with a picture on the tree, this is just a sampling of a few. It's always a great talking piece on Christmas Day when #visitors and family gather. We laugh and reminisce over those we have lost and how young we were or our funny hair and clothes. Family is everything to me and that's why I always love to read a good family saga.
