Pickpick

It was a strange feeling to read this story about German POWs in lower Michigan during WWII. I never knew POW camps existed in Michigan until I was an adult, and to discover this story has a connection to the teeny (teeny) tiny town I spent my early childhood in was just bizarre. I enjoyed the verse and the POVs of these two characters. I did not enjoy the very abrupt ending, though it's certainly fitting in any book on WWII.

This is likely my only major contribution to the point getting for #holidaybookdragons 😂. I wrote a Python script last year for a similar Scarathlon challenge and used it for the 2023 Winter Games challenge. The phrase this year is the same as last year's, but I reran the code to be sure. The code and words can be found here: https://github.com/wapisani/public-pyprojects/tree/main/Litsy/WinterGames_2023/W.... #wintergames2024
@LiseWorks

DieAReader 🤯❤️‍🔥☺️Absolutely Genius! Thank you so so much for sharing!! 3w
StayCurious Sorry this isn‘t fair to everyone- the point of the game is to use your head to come up with words not a code or AI. I didn‘t realize someone did this last year or we wouldn‘t have allowed it. I‘ll make a post about this tomorrow 3w
DieAReader @StayCurious 🥺So sry for all the trouble. 3w

StayCurious @DieAReader no trouble at all! We just want people to have fun and make it fair. 😊 3w
DieAReader @StayCurious 💖Absolutely! 3w
Light_of_Aether @StayCurious I DID use my head to write the code. No AI was used to help me write it or run it. I'm a competent programmer in Python and I don't need the help of AI to write anything. I don't really care because it's a game, but how does it matter the specific way someone comes up with the words? I did use my head to write the code and the post did say "unlimited points". This kind of stance says that there is indeed a limit. 3w
Light_of_Aether @StayCurious If you'd like me to remove this post and the associated points from my spreadsheet, I will. I didn't see any issue with my approach because I wrote the code myself (using my brain). 3w
StayCurious Hello, thank you for your comments. I appreciate that what you did was a smart way to go about the game and I admit that it does go above my head when it comes to understanding how exactly it all works. However I think the issue is that the code was shared with the idea that anyone could use it, and also it goes against the original intent we had for the game. I absolutely do not want to upset anyone but I have to put some limitations to the game. 3w
LiseWorks I totally agree with @StayCurious I really do not understand anything about coding or how it's done, but we need an equal playing field. Even if you said it's easy to learn, I'm an old fart who can barely use apps on my phone. So let's keep it simple 😊 3w
Light_of_Aether @StayCurious My intent behind sharing the code and the list of words was not so that others could re-use my solution, but to show my work. No where in my post did I say others could use it. 3w

1. LOVE me some eggnog. Non-alcoholic, though, and I recently found a pumpkin one that is delicious!!
2. Family tradition is one on Xmas Eve with new PJ‘s, and the rest on Xmas day
3. Red star to match our red, silver, and black decorations :)
4. Another family tradition is to have Xmas dinner at one of the two Waffle Houses within a mile of our house lol
5. Since I moved to Alaska, we can‘t afford to go home very often
