This book was a #BecauseLitsy book. Not sure why I chose this particular book - maybe because of the doors. I must have a thing for magical doors because it seems to be a 2020 thing for me. At any rate, I loved it. It‘s not loaded with plot, but the extraordinary journey of Zachary Ezra Rawlins is well worth taking for the magic alone. This is the kind of fantasy I wish to believe in. A big ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Scochrane26 I‘ve ended up w/ lots of doors lately, too. I read Neverwhere in dec (character Door who opens doors), read Ten Thousand Doors of January, went to book signing w/ Morgenstern & author of January where they talked about portals in fiction, then watched Shazam last night at youth group where there‘s doors. All I have left is Starless Sea. 4y

Scochrane26 @Bklover According a to a friend I saw this weekend who used to work at that bookstore—back when Night Circus came out, several employees loved it & promoted it w/ customers, so it sold well. Morgenstern has visited twice because of that. And the bookstore likes to have local authors facilitate discussions w/ visiting authors. 4y

I really liked this one. It was a #becauselitsy for me. Mythical but also personal. I loved the characters and their powers and they way they worked through life.
