After a super busy morning, I finally managed a late lunch and some reading time! Hoping to finish The Cruel Prince today!

I almost never eat grits, and I‘ve never made them, but this was good! Grits (with a hint of cheese) with kale and apple chicken sausage. #booksandlunch

Velvetfur I've often heard about grits (which we don't have here in the UK) and wondered what they are, I thought they'd be like some kind of nutty cereal...'grit'ty! So thanks for the pic, they look really nice 😁 (I know I could have googled them but it was never that urgent for me to know, lol!) 4y

alisiakae @Velvetfur I only had them for the first time when I moved to the American South a few years ago. If they are made well, they are yummy! Kind of similar to a creamy polenta. (edited) 4y

NeedsMoreBooks This looks delicious. I try grits with spinach and shrimps and cheese. It turns out pretty good, the recipe was from a friend 😋 4y

I‘m having a hard time getting into the second Percy Jackson book. Someone tell me it gets better?

At least I am enjoying some hot and sour soup on this cold, rainy day! Just battled through crazy parking lots and shoppers to pick up a prescription and rabbit litter. I don‘t think I‘m stepping foot near a shopping complex until January. People are being jerks right now! #booksandlunch

alisiakae @ephemeralwaltz @Megabooks Thanks! @christine For the version I had today, I actually used the Lotus GF Ramen, and added extra miso into it. And I always add fresh bok choy into my bowl and pour the soup on top. The heat cooks it slightly without overdoing it. Today‘s bowl also had 2 big handfuls of shredded cabbage/Brussels sprouts/kale, and a few small meatballs. 5y
