#eyesoncovers #booksaboutmothers #fruit and #startswithq with Hermione thrown in there to represent the Harry Potter series for #obsession 🤘🏼 Skipping #limerick because I don't think I have anything beyond Shakespeare for that.

Mommie Dearest | Christina Crawford

Confession time: I am absolutely obsessed with Joan Crawford. I think she's a phenomenal actress and she's gorgeous (and has perfect eyebrows). Therefore, I refuse to read or watch Mommie Dearest, because I don't want my image of her to be tainted. Narrow-minded? Perhaps. But she's just so talented. #BooksAboutMothers #MayBookFlowers

merelybookish A gossip blogger I used to read always talked about the gossip buffet. That we pick and choose the stories and scandals we want to believe 8y
merelybookish In other words, I think it's okay to love Joan Crawford and ignore the other stuff. 😉 8y
JacintaMCarter @merelybookish My love of Joan Crawford has also led me to despise Bette Davis. She's a good actress, too, but I feel that it would be a betrayal to Joan to like her rival. 8y

merelybookish That's fair. It's like Angelina Jolie vs. Jennifer Aniston. 😉 Although didn't they do a creepy movie together? What's the matter with Baby Jane? 8y
rubyslippersreads @JacintaMCarter Bette Davis's daughter wrote a Mommie Dearest-type book too: 8y
Chelsibno Confession time: My favorite Joan Crawford movie is Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?. I liked how Crawford and Davis worked off each other. It was one time where their rivalry actually helped both of them give great performances. I also liked how the film wasn't afraid to explore darker issues. 8y
Liatrek I love Joan Crawford. One of my favorite movies of hers is Mildred Pierce ❤️ 8y

Have a Nice Guilt Trip | Lisa Scottoline, Francesca Serritella

Lisa Scottoline is a local author whom I have had the pleasure of meeting on numerous occasions. Recently, she has partnered with her daughter to write humorous books together. Lisa also writes a column for the Sunday Philadelphia Inquirer, but sometimes turns it over to her daughter. Until her mother's death, she would also share funny stories about her mother in the column. #maybookflowers #booksaboutmothers

Captivatedbybooks Your a philly peep me too! 8y
DivineDiana @Captivatedbybooks Yes! Hello Neighbor! I'm out in the suburbs! 8y
ValerieAndBooks I enjoy her column, just picked up one of her novels, it's still waiting in my TBR! 8y
DivineDiana @ValerieAndBooks Her mysteries are fast reads with a lot of local flavor! 8y

This was a good read but one that I wouldn't reread. This is a twisting thriller, with a truly horrible mother.

#booksaboutmothers My mom's pick, as her Mother's Day favourite. I've been double-shift busy at the kitchen job over the weekend. We're celebrating today with some relaxing time at home. #maybookflowers

#maybookflowers #booksaboutmothers Lady Susan is a truly terrible mother. Written with razor-sharp wit and sarcasm, such a fun little read!
