This was a nice little filler that takes place between “The Mystery Guest” and “The Maid‘s Secret”. It was nice to see these characters and the hotel around the holidays, and my only real complaint was the amount of times Juan Manuel‘s “bare/smooth chest” is mentioned.
My least favorite Nancy Naigle. I struggled to feel any empathy for the main characters. And Geoff‘s mother, who kept a huge secret from her son, that had a huge impact on his life - oh I wanted to slap her. I did like the book, there were some good parts, but I did not love it like I usually love a Naigle book.
This novella is saccharinely sweet, and yet it was an enjoyable read. The 'mystery' is totally predictable, but the Christmas setting was fun. There were multiple subtle references to the O Henry tale of “The Gift of the Magi“, which added to the lessons about the true meaning of Christmas. This short story works, because it is short. Enjoy it with a cup of cocoa next Christmas. 3.5/5
Very cute but I predicted what was going to happen in chapter one.
However, it was an absolute joy to be back with Molly.
A nice addition to Molly‘s story as she navigates her relationship with Juan Manuel and her job at the Regency Grand Hotel. 3 🌟
