This was a fun mystery. I think it falls under cozy mystery, but I'm not positive I know what makes a book qualify for that genre 🤷‍♀️.

peanutnine I'm pretty sure cozy just means no on-the-page murder or violence 5mo

I thoroughly enjoyed this cozy mystery, which was my #SeasonalCozies pick for May. Funny and lighthearted, with lovable characters, a hint of romance, and a mystery that kept me guessing. Set in beautiful Cornwall, with fun references to Cornish traditions and sayings. This is the first in a series, and I can‘t wait to read more!

Jess_Read_This Oh! This one looks very good. A perfect summer read. I‘ve never heard of this series or author too. Thanks for sharing and stacked! 5mo

Trite. Predictable. Boring. And why oh why do narrators on audible seem to be breathy all the time? So irritating.

3 stars so a pick. I really liked how the main case wrapped up. Was grinning to myself on the bus for that part! So I‘ll hang on to this one.

Mehso-so

Hilary Fenton finds the student in the rooms next door dead, apparently from an accident while cleaning his gun.

The first chapter was funny but the condescending eye-dialect for Mrs Bigger and the author showing off his familiarity with university slang rapidly got tiresome - one more “sported oak“ and I would have screamed. The actual mystery was good but the romance with the Profile was very unconvincing.

bthegood I don't read about this author much - I read one of his books years ago as it was in a box of books bought at a library book sale - I enjoyed it 6mo

This 5th series entry finds Kim struggling to find a connection between victims seemingly being stabbed at random. Meanwhile her arch nemesis, sociopath Dr. Alex Thorne, a manipulative psychiatrist she put in prison, is still pulling strings…some involving Kim and her estranged mother. There‘s always lots going on in these books, and this one is no exception. Loved seeing more of the dynamic between Kim/mom/Thorne. 5/5⭐️

squirrelbrain You‘re getting near the book that will just devastate you…. Can‘t remember if it‘s 8 or 9 (ish) but it‘s coming…. 6mo
robinb @squirrelbrain Oh no!!!! 😩😩😩 I looked at the blurbs ahead at some point and did see one about a possible big loss…I‘ve sort of had that in the back of my mind ever since. Bummer… (edited) 6mo
