The New Magdalen: A Novel | Wilkie COLLINS
post image

I couldn‘t wait until tomorrow @BarbaraBB @CarolynM but today is #jolabokaflod day anyway! 🤣

Carolyn, I‘m so excited to read Happy Hour if it‘s one of your faves, as you always pick wonderful books. (Also love the cute card!)

Barbara, I‘m so looking forward to the Wilson, as I‘m sure it will be like the other #tob longlisters that we‘ve read - better than the shortlisted ones! And a new Persephone is always a treat!

Happy Jolabokaflod, all! 📚

Mehso-so

Bahasa Inggrisnya rada susah tapi ceritanya lumayan bagus.

The translation is good and the story is amusing. I esp liked Passy... (his name's so difficult 😅 it's hard for me to write)

I read the simplified version ages ago and it was so great. Reading the complete version is even better.

Daisey I read this a while ago, but don't remember much about it. It's my next planned Serial Reader reread. 7y
Ellie93 I read it quite a while ago as well but I remember enjoying the reading a lot. Jane Austen is one of my favorite authors! 7y
lillinares @Ellie93 @Daisey I thought this was a really sweet one. It did take a while, though, to understand Mr. Tilney... At first I thought he was so rude, but then I realized he was just being sarcastic most of the time. I enjoyed that. 😜 7y
Ellie93 Agreed! Austen is great at making characters look a certain way and then showing who they really are and why they behave a certain way. They're so complex but I do enjoy that as well 😊 @lillinares (edited) 7y
