#bookreport & #weeklyforecast
#finished: I finished quite a number of books this past week, due in large part to #deweysreadathon that was held on Saturday and the fact that I had two book club meetings last week (finished my other book last week). Reviews of these books will be forthcoming this week.

#currentlyreading: still plugging away at The Kingdom and will be picking up The Essex Serpent again this week (just a really busy reading time)

melissajayne #upcomingreads: I am planning on starting The Women, Legends and Wolf Hall this coming week. I hope to try to combine my apartment cleaning/packing with my reading as much as possible.

Hope you all have a wonderful week of reading.📚

#finished: I finished A House in the Sky and really liked it (I will be posting a review in the next couple of days)

#currentlyreading: Read quite a bit this past week, as I spent the wee hours of Saturday morning finishing up A House in the Sky. I also spent quite a bit of Saturday reading The Kingdom, The Power, and The Glory and feel like this will need a reread at some point. I hope to either finish or continue

melissajayne reading the other books that I have in my currently reading pile, in addition to doing some more cleaning out of my apartment.

#upcomingreads: I have to read Fried Green Tomatoes for a book club meeting this week and judging by the chapters, I feel like it should be a fairly quick read. I do plan on working on Wolf Hall.

Happy reading 📚

SarahBookInterrupted I have had Wolf Hall on my bookshelf for 2 years. A friend gave it to me. It‘s so big and I just haven‘t started it because I‘m trying to determine if it will be a slow or quick read. My mother came for Christmas and read it in 3 days but she is an incredibly fast reader. She liked it, but that was all the insight I got. Are you finding it a quick engaging read or is it a slow read and I‘ll need some real time to get into it? 2w
melissajayne @SarahBookInterrupted I read it within the last ten years and I think it took me awhile to get through it, but mind you I am a slow reader. I found it to be a slower read, as there are a lot of characters that are written into the book (there is a character list that is several pages long). 2w
SarahBookInterrupted @melissajayne Thanks, that‘s what I thought. It might have to be a summer read for me when I have more time. I appreciate it! 2w

#bookreport & #weeklyforecast
#finished: A very successful week; finished Evidence of Things Unseen and Hamnet. Enjoyed Hamnet more.

#currentlyreading: I am reading quite a bit. Cutting is almost done; Northwoods should be a few reads until I completed; will work on the other three to get them done this week, but I can guarantee nothing.

#upcoming: A House & Fried Green Tomatoes are #bookclub reads and Wolf Hall is a #buddyread.

melissajayne I am going to post my review for Hamnet in the next couple of days. I also have a #booktube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQ-6AdE0GXHuBANwXj8RYKQ) and #booktok channel (https://www.tiktok.com/@mjreadings), if you would prefer to hear me give a review of the book.

Have a good week and happy reading 📚

#finished: A very productive week. I finished Flowers of the Killer Moon and just finished Indigo (my review will be up in the next day or two).

#currentlyreading: I am down to two books at the moment (Northwoods and The Essex Serpent), but will likely be starting a couple of the #upcomingreads in the next few days.

Continued below...

melissajayne Upcoming reads: I will be starting Cutting and 100 year old man this week, as they are both book club reads. I hope to start working on Last Mission to Tokyo this coming week as well, depends on how I am feeling.

#finished: I got three books completed this past week and feel quite pleased with myself. I really liked Prequel, but was a bit disappointed with A Man Called Ove.

#currentlyreading: I am continuing to plod a long with The Alice Network, but am still enjoying it. Started Killers and The Essex Serpent.

Continued below...

melissajayne #upcomingreads: I hope to start Indigo and Seven Up this coming week and pick up Last Mission to Tokyo again.

#finished: Finally finished a book this week! Yay! I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to reading Lattes & Legends sometime soon.

#currentlyreading: still working on Prequel (almost done it, but its a slower read than I expected) and The Alice Network (I am enjoying the Eve sections, but the Charlie sections seem slower). Started A Man Called Ove and really like it.

Continued below...

melissajayne #upcomingreads: Will start Meet Me at the Lake, as it is a book club read (as is Ove). Am planning on starting Indigo for the Book Cougars readalong meetup in a few weeks and will pick up and hopefully finish Last Mission (not much left in the book) this coming week. I will hopefully start Seven Up and The Essex Serpent.

I also got The Women by Kristin Hannah yesterday evening and really want to start that as well.

Happy reading 📚

#finished: Didn't finish anything this past week; think reading a lot early last week impacted on that.

#currentlyreading: I am still continuing to read Prequel and The Alice Network and I started reading Bookshops and Bonedust

#upcomingreads: like my previous weeks, I am hoping to work on these two, provided I finish either prequel or The Alice Network early on in the week.

Happy reading 📚

Finished The Bookbinder and Where is Anne Frank this week (both were fairly quick reads for me) and DNF'd Wreck the Halls. I completed about 31% of Wreck the Halls and just couldn't go any further.

#currentlyreading
In the midst of reading The Sacred Balance, which is for a library book club, and A Christmas Carol and should be able to finish them both today.

Continued in the comments

melissajayne #upcomingreads
Need to finish both The Authenticity Project, which is for another library book club, and Enough, which is due back this week due to it being a 2-week loan. I plan on start reading The Spectacular for the Litsy #literarycrew #buddyread

Happy reading 😊📚

Pickpick

FINALLY finished this one after reading it for 3.5 months. It was so good and well researched, just heavy and emotionally difficult to read in some places. It is well worth any reader's time.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I was honored to be able to read this. Hamby gives such value and justice to these devastating accounts of hard working miners who were affected by Black Lung Disease.
