My streak is broken. I had not ordered from #Bookoutlet in over a year.
Some books for me, some for swaps. Okay, only two are for swaps, the rest are for me. 😊

I really enjoyed this second book in the accidental alchemist series. It centers around a new mystery while continuing a plot line from book 1. I really like the characters and that there‘s a live gargoyle in the story. Pandian infuses the story with the right amount of quirkiness.
This is my pick for August #SeriesChallenge American Demon by Kim Harrison @maich
Cute. It‘s like a middle aged Sookie Stackhouse series. Fun, will continue series, even if the MC let out SEVERAL breaths she didn‘t realize she was holding.
I love this series. This one is #11. There is an unexpected sacrifice, which totally made me cry. If you like witchcraft, elves, pixies, and vampires, you would like this series. Two bingo spots for June and July #ISpyBingo Great Series #SeriesLove24 Libby said it had 850 pages, so it qualifies for a Chunkster #ChunksterChallenge2024 #ReadAway2024

My attention span is at an all time low but I keep buying books. Audible BOGO sale got me today.
First, I‘d like to thank Goodreads for gifting this book to me. Although it wasn‘t my genre of choice, it wasn‘t bad. It was definitely written for the younger generation, with most of the characters begin teenagers. It dealt with angels, demons, protectors, etc. There were a lot of fight scenes, which also isn‘t necessarily my thing. This book is part one of a series that I most likely won‘t continue.
Centuries-old alchemist Zoe has arrived in Portland and is startled to find a gargoyle as she starts unpacking. And even more startled when he comes to life (oh, and he‘s a great chef). And then a man is found murdered outside her house. I really liked this book, not only for the story, but for these great characters. I look forward to reading more of the series.
Twelve friends, all from different factions of the paranormal students of Katmere Academy, team up to fight the battle of all battles. It‘s a near impossible win for them-one for which they could all die. But they must fight for their lives to destroy the Vampire King. I really do recommend this series. #SeriesLove2024 @TheSpineView @Andrew65
“No one survived the last battle unscathed. Flint is angry at the world, Jaxon is turning into something I don‘t recognize, and Hudson has put up a wall I‘m not sure I‘ll ever break through. Now war is coming, and we‘re not ready. We‘re going to need an army to have any hope of winning. But first, there are questions about my ancestors that need answers. Answers that might just reveal who the real monster is among us.”
