"Though I am old with wandering
Through hollow lands and hilly lands,
I will find out where she has gone,
And kiss her lips and take her hands;
And walk among long dappled grass,
And pluck till time and times are done
The silver apples of the moon,
The golden apples of the sun."

- The Song of Wandering Aengus

Severnmeadows Wonderful picture, wonderful poem! 5mo
Bookwomble @Severnmeadows it particularly struck me as Ray Bradbury used the last line as a story title 5mo

Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

- "He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven"

Memoirs of Laetitia Pilkington | Laetitia Pilkington
post image

For my thesis project I took the memoirs of Laetitia Pilkington, an Irish writer and poet from the 1700s, and made them available for the first time as an interactive ebook! She has a fascinating story to tell, download for free at www.illumiscript.org #irishwriters #digitalmedia #graphicdesign #ebooks #nuig

The Master: A Novel | Colm Toibin

Happy St. Paddy's Littens! I'm listening to Van Morrison, making Irish Lentil Guinness Stew and thinking about all the great #IrishWriters. My favorite is Colm Tóibín. Who's your favorite?

tpixie Yum!! My sister made corned beef and cabbage. My husband didn't get the message- he made homemade New England clam chowder! It's delish tho!! 3y
ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled Have liked Toibin but have a special place in my heart for Niall Williams ❤☘️ (edited) 3y
Dragon I like Marian Keyes. My fist book was 3y

DebinHawaii Your stew looks delicious! 😋🍴 3y
KVanRead @ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled @Dragon I don't know either of those. I will have to try them. New authors, yay!! 3y
KVanRead @DebinHawaii It was a new recipe I tried and I absolutely loved it! First time I've found a vegetarian Irish stew as delicious as the beef one I used to make. It's for a slow cooker but came out great in my cast iron stew pot. http://karalydon.com/recipes/main-course/irish-lentil-guinness-stew/ 3y

Two of my favourite #IrishWriters. Sheridan Le Fanu and Bram Stoker.

TheLondonBookworm I'm utterly desperate to go to the Stoker Festival in Ireland!! 3y
quirkyreader @TheLondonBookworm I hope you are able to go. And if you can't there is always Whitby down south and the festivals there. 3y
