Tall, Dark, and Wicked: Wicked Trilogy | Madeline Hunter

Surprisingly enjoyable. I liked the first in the trilogy well enough, and this was better. Aside from the expected love story, there‘s a plot involving counterfeiting that was pleasantly well-developed with a strong resolution. Add in cameos from the first couple and it was good fun. #52Books23 #secondhandbook

I needed this book! I picked it up in a used bookstore and knew nothing about it. I love Europe so I took a chance. This beautiful story of two men in 1700s France is told in "spare but rich" prose. Jhumpa Lahiri says, "It is history made intimate, and a masterpiece of compression." I read it in one sitting. Girl in Snow: A Novel | Danya Kukafka

This book is the debut of Danya Kukafka, author of Noted on an Execution- which I loved.
This debut is another excellent atmospheric psychological thriller. Three outsiders in an average Colorado town are all, one way or another, involved in the murder of 15-year old Lucinda, one of the pretty girls in town.
It‘s good! Not as good as her second book, but it‘s definitely a pick. Thank you again, Heather, for sending me this one 🤍

I‘ve been meaning to read this for ages so very much enjoyed dipping in and out of this over the last few weeks. I‘m now a Krakauer completist! He‘s absolutely one of my favorite nonfiction authors.

[DELETED] 3803335244 This always saddens me a bit in used books. When you see a thoughtful message from a parent or grandparent & the book is given away. I bought a Christmas book last year that had such an endearing message to a grandson plus the book was signed by a religious leader. I was sad that it was in a .25 cent used book pile. 😟😔 7y

litznbooks I agree w/ u, @ForeverNerdy . Personally, even if the book is a duplicate copy, I will still treasure the gift esp if it has a sweet message inside. It is the thought that counts. 😊 7y
