Pickpick

This light novel may be one of my favorites. I love the world building and the way the author tells the story. This #mangatheme reading month has really exposed me to some different and yet highly entertaining stories! I'm finding I truly connect with the writing of these authors. #bookspin @thearomaofbooks

I LOVED this book! I‘m loving Japanese literature!

Breasts and Eggs paints a portrait of contemporary womanhood in Japan and recounts the intimate journeys of three women as they confront oppressive mores and their own uncertainties on the road to finding peace and futures they can truly call their own. #japaneseliterature #japaneseauthor #japanesebooks

While I was reading I found many connections like poverty, environmental destruction, and etc. The protagonist is trying to help with these problems, while also uniting their people. Throughout the section of the story that I was reading there were many occurences where the protagonist had to sacrifice an important object/person to help fix a problem.

So far pretty mundane but written in a way that's interesting #japaneseauthor The story seems to be told by the narrator and then we get these journal snippets from her niece Midoriko #fiction

Decided to start another book, almost done with my audiobook but wow, it's taking me a bit longer than usual. Since this year is all about building better #habits, I thought this would be a good read. And it's by a #Japaneseauthor so I'm still working on that 2020 goal #nonfiction #selfhelp

#3Books #ThatIveRecommendedToOthers

These are pretty much my go to recommendations, The Night Circus for the imagery, A Sand County Almanac is a classic that gets folks thinking about the outdoors. And The Stones Cry Out to explain my obsession with rocks 😜 and it's pretty gut wrenching too.

OriginalCyn620 The Night Circus was one of my choices for today‘s prompt too! 5y
Graywacke I still need to get to Sand Country Almanac... 4y
stretchkev Leopold is great for any season. 4y
Nute Fantastic choices! I love The Night Circus and The Stones Cry Out. I haven‘t read Sand County Almanac, but I feel like I can trust your recommendation based on our mutual liking of the other two novels.😊 (edited) 4y
stretchkev @Nute Sand County Almanac isn't a novel, like the others but a essay collection about nature and conservation. I think its one of those essays that sparks a different kind of thinking even if you don't necessarily agree with everyone of Leopold's ideas. 4y
