I know this is really late but whatever!

“When Liza Mellincamp thinks about the last time she ever saw Violet Sullivan, what comes most vividly to mind is the color of Violet‘s Japanese silk kimono, a shade of blue that Liza later learned was called ‘cerulean,‘ a word that wasn‘t even in her vocabulary when she was fourteen years old.”

GPS missed it by “that much” on Monday, but I did find the used bookstore Turn the Page on my way out of Williamsburg yesterday. (It‘s not in the Litsy database.

I managed to restrain myself and only bought the tagged book.

It was also charming to listen to big band music while browsing, and even the bag is cute.

TiredLibrarian Nice! Reminds me how much I enjoyed the Kinsey Millhone books. 5mo

These audiobooks are honestly such a comfort to me. I listened to this series during a personal rough period (health problems - my husband). Listening to them again reminds me I am a survivor.

1. I‘m a planner, but definitely not to the last degree.
2. In the tagged book, Kinsey ends up going undercover in an auto insurance fraud ring. She‘s all set to meet with her contact and get all the inside information, but that meeting never happens. Instead she gets thrown into the situation prematurely and has to “wing it” not just to succeed but to survive.

1. I don‘t withdraw from reading, but I do get into slumps sometimes. If I think it‘s more than a momentary funk, I might reread a mystery where I already know the answer to jump start my reading.
2. JRR Tolkien, Peter May, Jeff Shaara
3. Sue Grafton, Louise Penny, Laura Lippman
(Did you really think I‘d choose just one?)

I‘m posting one book a day from my massive collection. No description, no reason for why I want to read it (some I‘ve had so long I don‘t even remember why!). Feel free to join in!

Kinsey investigates the disappearance of a woman that occurred 35 years ago. On July 4th 1953, Violet Sullivan leaves her 7 year old daughter with the babysitter to meet her husband to watch fireworks. Violet is never seen again. Over the years, there has been speculation she ran off with someone or that she was murdered by her husband who was abusive and drank excessively.
