Love this quote from the end of the Birdsong play and thought it quite fitting for Remembrance Day.

MayJasper It really captures being part of something so unspeakable. Well done. 2mo
BarbaraBB Did you choose your handle based on this book? 2mo
Birdsong28 @BarbaraBB Yes I did as it's my favourite book and I combined them with my birthday 2mo
BarbaraBB I hoped so! I loved this book as well 🦜 2mo

Watched this movie in honour of Remembrance Day. Churchill takes a ride on the tube in order to gauge the public opinion on appeasement. He recites this quote to the passengers on the train. #Lestweforget

rabbitprincess I watched this movie this weekend as well! 1y
Izai.Amorim I saw that one, too. I found the tube scene kind of difficult to believe but it was definitely poetic. (edited) 1y
Dragon Thanks @rabbitprincess I thought the lead actor deserved his Oscar. 1y

Dragon Thanks @Izai.Amorim I couldn‘t help wondering if it had really happened or just “imagined “ for the movie. 1y
Izai.Amorim @Dragon Could be real but Old aristocrat Churchill among the peasants is kind of hard to believe. 1y
Dragon Thanks @Izai.Amorim especially after the way it shows his treatment of his employees. 1y

Think this is a rather fitting book to read with my niece today.

For me the #memoir for #ReadingWomenMonth just has to be Anne Frank‘s Diary. What a remarkable young woman and so so sad! 😭 Such bravery, courage and what an inspiration.

TheReadingMermaid Was a great book too 2y

Most intelligent people would never want war, but unfortunately there are times where it is needed to defend our very freedom and democracy. On 11th November I salute all servicemen or women, alive or dead, who put their very lives on the line to defend this freedom and democracy and continue to do so! We salute you! #lestweforget #Quotsynov17 #War

In honour of #Eleven..... I felt this book title was appropriate to the day....

This is picture of my wonderful father-in-law Eric Lorne Wolfe (1919-2007) taken when he enlisted, on June 6th, 1942 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. 🇨🇦
Still miss him every day and always will.

I would like to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to all the heroes living and gone for your selfless sacrifice and service! ❤️
