The Whisper Man | Alex North

Here we go! It was interesting and sometimes very upsetting to read through some of the negative reviews about the books I love! Come see my reactions here: https://youtu.be/oQwG-dDD7xE

#negativereviews #bookhate #booklove #goodreadsreviews #bookchat #bookdiscussion #bookthoughts #letstalkaboutbooks #booktube

CocoReads Someone gave Educated a 1 Star? That was one of my favorites last year. It was crazy, almost unbelieveable in parts, but so good! 4y
suzie.reads I loved The Whisper Man! 4y
See All 7 Comments
abookishbutterfly @CocoReads A lot of people gave Educated one star. 3,217 people on Goodreads, to be exact. 4y
CocoReads Wow. I rarely read GR reviews so I didn‘t even notice. To me they‘re a lot like Facebook comments. I don‘t need that negativity in my life. 🤣 4y
abookishbutterfly @CocoReads I would not have much of a video here if I didn‘t take a look at those reviews. 😉 I don‘t mind seeing people‘s opposing views, if they express them coherently and respectfully, but some people are so unbelievably nasty. The reviews on Educated were the most upsetting to me but I anticipated that ahead of time. 4y
CocoReads That‘s a good point and I agree for the video, you definitely needed the reviews. And I also don‘t mind a well worded negative review with good coherent arguments but for sure the really nasty ones are what I don‘t like. 4y

Since December is the last month of the year, it made sense to finally get around to The End of the Year Book Tag on BookTube. Check out my answers and let me know yours! https://youtu.be/31LoO1LWBPw

#yearinreview #readingplans #decemberreading #bookcommunity #bookworms #letstalkaboutbooks #bookchat

EadieB @Butterflysmore Any books to finish by years‘s end: I would like to finish the last book in The Dark Tower series as I have read all the others this year. I also started The Name of the Rose but put it aside as it was not the right time to read it. I‘ve had the 2nd book in a series by Peter James on my TBR for so long that I really should read that too. But I am involved in the #WinterGames and that will make these reads to wait until 2020. 4y
EadieB @Butterflyamore Any autumnal books to transition to December: Not really but I do have ARC‘s to catch up with. Any new releases: I am on hold at the library for Cruel Acts the last book in Maeve Kerrigan series by Jane Casey. Also waiting for This Tender Land by W. Krueger. The ARC‘s (NetGalley) that I need to read by year‘s end are: The Other Wife by C. McGowan, Hid From Your Eyes by Julia Spencer-Fleming and The Tenant by K. Engberg. 4y
See All 6 Comments
EadieB @Butterflyamore I also have Physical ARC‘s to read B/4 2020: Empire of Lies by R. Khoury, The Sea of Lost Girls by C. Goodman and The Unwilling by John Hart. The best books I‘ve read this year have been the series by both Adrian McKinty (Sean Duffy) and by Jane Casey (Maeve Kerrigan). Ken Follett‘s stand-alone have all been winners to as read one a month of those. I have many 5 star books but these 3 authors are the best of the year for me. 4y
EadieB @Butterflyamore Plans for 2020 are to read 3 Nordic Noir authors series Jussi Adler-Olsen, Camilla Lackberg and Lars Kepler. Finish reading Follett. Starting Elizabeth George series. Finish Maeve Binchy‘s books and Cara Black‘s Aimee deLuc series. I‘m doing Mr Book‘s monthly read challenge too. Also Group Reads on LibraryThing that I am involved with. So it will be a busy year. I have lots of series started and need to finish those too. 4y
EadieB @Butterflyamore I will finish the year with a little over 200 books and my goal for 2020 will be at least 200 books too. 4y

I have 8 recommendations for you based on books you may have read and loved! I made sure to include various genres to hopefully provide something perfect for everyone! https://youtu.be/iF122xftk_o #booktube #bookrecommendations #booksyoushouldread #tbrrecommendations #ifyoulikedthisyoumightalsolikethis #readthese #letstalkaboutbooks

EadieB @Butterflymore First off, I wanted to ask you about the music that starts off your video. I really like it and wanted to know if there is a title for it or where did you acquire it. I enjoyed your book comparisons and look forward to reading some of them. I own The Art of Racing in the Rain and look forward to reading that soon. Little Darlings and The Stolen Child look interesting too. A Curse so Dark and Lonely I will have to check out too. 5y
abookishbutterfly @EadieB My husband created the music. I don‘t think it‘s available on the one album he has available through iTunes but I‘ll double check with him. It‘s a clip from something he produced. I‘m glad some of the books sound interesting to you! 5y

EadieB @Butterflyamore Hunted looks good too. The Tiffany books look like something I would enjoy too. I have read Defending Jacob and really enjoyed that one so I will also check out Miracle Creek. The Princess Bride is one of my favorite movies so I think I will listen to the audio of As You Wish. I am a big fan of Edgar Allan Poe so His Hideous Heart is a must for me too. Thanks so much for doing this video as I found the comparisons interesting. 5y
EadieB @Butterflyamore Thanks! I really like the music and that's interesting that your husband is also a musician. Very nice! 5y
abookishbutterfly @EadieB I think you‘ll really enjoy As You Wish! The Princess Bride is one of my favorite movies too. I have to confess - I actually love it more than the book! Haha 5y

The song is track 5, "Bookworm Girl." I have nothing to do with the song. He wrote it for another bookworm girl. ?

It‘s time to find out if my husband pays attention to me when I talk about my beloved books. New video here: https://youtu.be/Z0-j0PeOZbk

EadieB @Butterflyamore Loved the game and I was surprised Josh got so many right! I‘ve read Crawdads, Whisper Man, Ordinary Grace and Matthew Dicks book. Enjoyed them all. I have Sleepwalker, Speak and Racing in the Rain but have not read them. Didn‘t make a list of the books but I think that‘s all I can remember. I‘ll have to watch the video again in the morning and see if I missed any more. I‘ll have to give my husband a test! lol 5y
abookishbutterfly @EadieB I was pretty impressed with how well he did! 5y
