I love Angela Carter, and I haven't read close to everything she has written yet. But these Fairy Tales are just wow. I like to read a couple of stories once in a while, because they bring a little magic everytime. When I first read Aimee Bender, I had devour all her work as soon as possible. She writes the best whimsical--and sometimes disturbing--short stories. The last prompt of #magicalmonday is #magicalshortstory and I chose these lovely retellings of fairy and folk tales. I already used these for yesterday's #photoadaynov16 but they are so beautifully written and illustrated that I feel they deserve more attention. Throughout the day I will post quotes allong with the beautiful illustrations found in these books to make this the most magical of mondays 😊🎇

Almost forgot it's #MagicalMonday 😅 So here goes a #magicalShortstory my favorite being the Tale of the three brothers. I loved how death got outsmarted by the last brother , who in the end makes peace with him.
