This one has been on my TBR forever, ever since I read What She Left Behind by Ellen Marie Wiseman.
On the surface, when I selected this audiobook from my massive TBR, I thought it was going to be this suspenseful story about a teenager who emerged from the wilderness 10 years after he and his father had gone missing. I finished this book stunned in deep thought with a lot to process.

A memoir of the author‘s bulimarexia experience and healing, as a 15 yo inpatient at a treatment center. She promised herself if she made it, she would write about her experiences during this time to help and inspire others. Honest and engaging

I loved Lone Women so much that I picked this up without knowing anything about it. I really like Victor LaValle's writing style. Interesting yet easy to read.
Pepper is involuntarily committed to a mental institution. What is supposed to be a 72-hour hold turns into months. Pepper learns of the monster that is stalking the inmates, and eventually he is attacked by the creature.
This is definitely an engaging read! I‘ve enjoyed it so much and it kept me guessing the outcome! I actually guessed it wrong, that was an unexpected ending for sure! I‘ve rated it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Currently reading. A thriller set in Northern Minnesota ( the Boundary Waters and Duluth).
This horror story takes place in a New York psychiatric facility in 2011. The setting was detailed remarkably well and the characters were the kind that stick with you because they seem so real. The horror was more in the system than the supernatural aspect.
