pickI loved Trees! It amazes me how Everett can tackle such a topic while maintaining a level of humor. Also, the chapter that is told from Trump‘s perspective is pure gold 😊
pickThis book is hard to describe. It‘s had some beautiful vignettes and gorgeous descriptions of nature. Parts are very disturbing and not easy to read. It‘s was our April Bookclub pick. Thank you @Cathythoughts for choosing it. I don‘t think I‘d have read it otherwise and I would have missed the wonderful prose and characters. It will stay with me for a long time.
pickMy original book club kicked off with this one back in 2010, and my newer book club selected it for this April. It‘s been 14 years since I read this, & I still found it to be an emotionally captivating story. I listened to the truly excellent audio performances this time around & I found myself listening at every chance, even though I remembered the story quite well. Reception to this one has since shifted so I‘m looking forward to discussing it!

The book was compelling...the chapters were divided into the description of and the tales of the main characters' lives, past and present.
Mudbound was a portrayal of what life was like in Mississippi in the 1940's during and after WWII.
