A cute modern #lgbtq+ YA retelling of Jane Austen‘s Emma! Very enjoyable, and it‘s a quick read.

I‘m glad I finally read this one. It‘s been on my shelf for a long time. It hit hard and showed how quickly life and circumstances can change. Will you look away, will you be persistent in helping, will you see past the first level and look deeper?

Been sick and haven‘t read as much. 4 audiobooks, my #ReadOrDonate book and the #NoPlaceLikeHolmes story.
Great idea, but poorly executed. Christine's husband has recently died, so she & her son decide to celebrate Christmas in the cabin that her husband had rented before he died. When they get there, things go bad in so many ways.
Warnings for a brutal pet death & for an ambiguous ending. Numerous parts of this book don't add up 🤷🏼♀️

This one was okay. The pacing was choppy/slow, and a lot of the character motivations just didn't work for me. I also get annoyed whenever I hear the “if you don't want the government tracking/checking your every move you're obviously a criminal“ argument: it's simply not true. It was a fun concept, but the execution just didn't quite work for me.
My May choice for #ReadOrDonate has been sitting on my shelves for years. It‘s time!
What will everyone else be reading?

1. About 600. I‘ve been going through the ones I‘ve read and offering them to family & friends. The ones not claimed go to LFLs, shelters, etc. #Roll100 ( @PuddleJumper ) & #ReadOrDonate ( @julieclair ) have helped me condense my collection.
2. Tagged.
Thanks for the tag, @TheSpineView 🤓
I‘m always up for a Jane Austen retelling, and this one is an #lgbtq+ retelling of Emma. It‘s my pick for #readordonate for May!
Georgiana finds a body outside of Kensington Palace, and has to figure out how it got there and why. The deceased has been a mistress to many, including some of the royal family and members of Parliament, so Georgie's investigating has to be very discreet.
I have really enjoyed reading this series, but didn't really like the previous book. So I was very glad that this one had an interesting storyline again.
Here are my picks for May's #BookSpin and #ReadOrDonate 📚
